Representatives of the five municipalities have met Monday September 14 in the City Hall molinense to address current problems affecting the banks of the river and have agreed to request a meeting with the President of the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura to find solutions
The City of Molina de Segura has welcomed Monday 14 September a meeting of the representatives of the towns of Lorquí, Ceutí, Alguazas, Archena and Molina de Segura, in order to address issues affecting the banks of the River Segura.
The meeting was attended by the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Eduardo Contreras Linares, Mayor of Lorquí, Joaquin Hernandez Gomariz, Mayor of Alguazas, Blas Angel Ruipérez Peñalver, the Deputy Mayor of Ceuta, Jesus Hernandez, Deputy Mayor of Archena, Andrés Luna, and the Councillor for Environment of Molina de Segura, Reme López Paredes.
Attendees expressed concern about the current state making the banks of the River Segura and Rambas, with the presence of reeds across the banks of the river that runs through the five boroughs and causes various problems: fires, floods to floods channel and presence of mosquitoes.
It has also established the need to carry out a comprehensive treatment of the river, because in some places the channel bottom level has risen dangerously, which poses a serious risk of flooding the entire bank if the flow rate is increased by strong rainfall.
Representatives of the five municipalities have agreed to request a meeting with the President of the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura to address all these issues.
