The Information Center of Nature Alto del Landing of Molina de Segura will open on Sunday, September 13, for receiving the public visiting the Ecological Park Vicente Blanes, in the hamlet of the landing, as well as other nearby natural areas.
Its function is to provide information and raise awareness of the natural, scenic, geological and cultural values ​​of the area as well as resources for ecotourism.
This municipal facility, managed by the Department of Environment, located in the old unitary school of The Landing, built in the 60s and restored to its current use in 1999, opened its doors on June 19, 2004 as a municipal facility for training, information, interpretation and environmental education.
In this new phase will be open to the public on 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month from 10.00 to 14.00.
The visiting public will receive information on the natural values ​​of the Ecological Park Vicente Blanes, places of geological interest, saws place and the Sword, as well as nature trails that leave from the center.
It will provide specific materials and guides to the area, promote activities in nature and will release resources for ecotourism.
The center will also show the educational exhibition Molina's story through the fossils, which includes the sequence of geologic Molina de Segura through the interpretation of fossils, minerals and rocks, etc., with the help of maps and explanatory panels.
It has also developed a program of activities of interpretation, environmental education, recreation and ecotourism, to increase the level of environmental awareness and respect for nature, combining the use and enjoyment with the priority conservation of natural areas.
Activities every Sunday opening will be held, starting at 11.00, with workshops for younger family visitor or group, and 12.00, with visits to interesting places around the center.
On Sunday September 13, at 11.00, the tour of the exhibition of fossils and visit will take place at 12:00 hours, a journey through the wetland La Poza and fossil coral reef El Apostol.
The range of activities of the center include the ability to arrange guided tours for groups and schools upon request to the Department of Environment visits.
According to the Councillor for the Environment, Reme López Paredes, "this installation, which since its launch in 2004 until mid-2009, was open to the public on weekends, started in 2015 a new journey with a major commitment the promotion of environmental and cultural values ​​of the area and around the town, which we hope will be welcomed by citizens. "
