The Department of Social Welfare of the City of Molina de Segura reports that during the summer holidays and the absence of school canteens, covering, as in previous years has been doing the basic needs of families who may be affected by such circumstances through Urgently Needed Aid, to understand that this system allows a maximum optimization of existing resources under its rational application.
This summer, the council has increased molinense economic allocation for this purpose, which is regulated by the following criteria:
- Families with children can present deficiencies due to lack of school meals this summer are users of the municipal social services, a situation for which are being addressed throughout the year by the corresponding units of Social Work and in some cases for the child and family program.
- Such families as well as those in which minors are not studying in centers with cafeteria, receive the aid Urgent Need from the municipal social services, in coordination with Caritas and Red Cross, covering the basic needs of children, and extending them to the rest of the family unit.
These grants are increased according to the members of the unit itself and the summer / holiday period.
- The system Urgently Needed Aid, according to the conclusions of the technical work carried out by the specialized staff of Social Welfare Department, ensures a balanced and rational distribution of existing financial resources, enabling the maintenance of a family facing the attention only to the affected children, would pay for a similar or even higher cost and for the same period, the cafeteria provided for that purpose.
Similarly, the stigmatization of children is avoided and the renewal of family problems under the supervision and support of professional reference is sought.
