About 1,500 youth from Molina de Segura have participated in the workshops of IRENE Program information, training and prevention of sexual violence (04/06/2015)

The IRENE Program information, training and prevention of sexual violence in youths and adolescents, has been closed today Thursday, June 4, in the Plenary Hall of the City of Molina de Segura.

The ceremony was attended by the acting mayor of the town, Eduardo Contreras Linares, Councillor for Equality in office, Reme López Paredes, the program coordinator, Maria Dolores Garcia Ruiz, agents of the Civil Guard, National Police and local police, professionals of schools, and the departments of Social Welfare and Equality, and representatives of women's associations, AMPAS and students.

During the ceremony, the Acting Councillor for Equality presented the conclusions of IRENE Program, and then was handed the material to attendees (Operation Guide, etc.).

It has also proceeded to read the manifesto against sexual violence, by the participant in the program IRENE students.

This program is the result of a collaboration agreement between the City of Molina de Segura and the Institute of Women and Equal Opportunities, signed in June 2014 and funded by the European Social Fund (ESF).

IRENE has been developed through different actions in three phases:

1st phase: Day of awareness and information on sexual assaults in youth, aimed at molinense population.

2nd phase: prevention workshops and information about sexual violence, aimed at young people, with the participation of the following schools: IES Eduardo Linares Lumeras, IES Francisco de Goya, IES Vega del Tader, IES Cañada de las Eras Center Adult Education Centers of Professional Studies, Center for Agricultural Training and Experience (CIFE), Educational Center Los Olivos, Vicente Medina Education Center, Education Center Education Center San Jorge and Sagrada Familia.

They have about 1,500 students participated.
