The IRENE Program information, training and prevention of sexual violence in youths and adolescents, has been closed today Thursday, June 4, in the Plenary Hall of the City of Molina de Segura.
The ceremony was attended by the acting mayor of the town, Eduardo Contreras Linares, Councillor for Equality in office, Reme López Paredes, the program coordinator, Maria Dolores Garcia Ruiz, agents of the Civil Guard, National Police and local police, professionals of schools, and the departments of Social Welfare and Equality, and representatives of women's associations, AMPAS and students.
During the ceremony, the Acting Councillor for Equality presented the conclusions of IRENE Program, and then was handed the material to attendees (Operation Guide, etc.).
It has also proceeded to read the manifesto against sexual violence, by the participant in the program IRENE students.
This program is the result of a collaboration agreement between the City of Molina de Segura and the Institute of Women and Equal Opportunities, signed in June 2014 and funded by the European Social Fund (ESF).
IRENE has been developed through different actions in three phases:
1st phase: Day of awareness and information on sexual assaults in youth, aimed at molinense population.
"This explains Reme López activity aims to raise awareness, and especially parents, about the size having sexual assaults on children and adolescents, to know the legal status of these crimes, know the resources, encourage detection and how to deal with these situations, and learn new ways of committing these crimes through the network and the psychological sequelae.
2nd phase: prevention workshops and information about sexual violence, aimed at young people, with the participation of the following schools: IES Eduardo Linares Lumeras, IES Francisco de Goya, IES Vega del Tader, IES Cañada de las Eras Center Adult Education Centers of Professional Studies, Center for Agricultural Training and Experience (CIFE), Educational Center Los Olivos, Vicente Medina Education Center, Education Center Education Center San Jorge and Sagrada Familia.
They have about 1,500 students participated.
"The main purpose of these workshops according indicates the concejala- is to teach and prevent situations of sexual violence among youth, analyze and understand the myths, learn how to improve communication skills that help young people to express their wishes, discrepancies reviews while respecting those of others, and increase their knowledge to new forms of sexual violence through social networks. "
Stage 3: Primary Care Course for victims of violence, aimed at professionals directly related to victims: law enforcement bodies, workers / social ace, health personnel, educators / social ace, teachers, counselors / as.
The Councillor for Equality in office stressed that "the objective of these courses is to equip participants with training that allows encourage adequate attention to the victim, avoiding secondary victimization, facilitate a rapid and effective intervention by professionals, adequate referral to the victim, and facilitate reporting ".
