UPyD candidate for mayor of Molina de Segura, Encarna Hernandez, said today that "it will inevitably have to assume political responsibility" for the recent court ruling declaring the municipal license which allowed to build a gas station null the Altorreal urbanization, agreeing with the urban entity and citizen platform mobilized against the installation of the service station in a residential area.
Hernandez also expressed his surprise at the "silence" that holds the mayor, Eduardo Contreras, since the fault is met, "after having defended to the hilt installing the gas station and legality."
As explained Hernández, the Local Government agreed to grant planning permission for the construction of a service station on a plot of Altorreal Construction to benefit from the alleged "rating" of the plot as CC-2 (Allows a service station ) instead of EP-2 (not allowed), under partial modification plan Altorreal.
All this despite an agreement of the Governing Council of the Autonomous Community of 2003 was declared as "unreasonable" the change of name of the plot.
Still, the team of Popular Party government went ahead, changing the name of the plot, alluding to a "clerical error" in its qualification as EP-2 in the General Plan.
The license was granted and the station was built.
Hernandez recalled that as early as July 2011, UPyD led a motion to plenary to request "the immediate suspension of the building permit."
This proposal, like others of a similar nature filed by opposition groups in an extraordinary plenary session on the topic held in October, was dismissed by the team of Popular Party government.
The issue came to prosecution, but was not accepted for consideration, although it had been signed by all councilors of the municipal opposition with the support of neighbors.
