Education launches campaign As in silence, to prevent noise pollution in schools (26/03/2015)

The Department of Education of the City of Molina has launched a campaign of environmental awareness education and prevention of noise pollution in schools, known as silent.

The initiative was presented at a press conference on Thursday March 26, by the Councillor for Education, Reme López Paredes, the Director of CEIP Maestro Francisco Martínez Bernal, Fulgencio Monreal Monreal, and Director of Studies of the center, José David Exposito Cano.

It is a specific action within the Molina Educating City program during the period dining center, and seeks to educate children about the level of noise pollution, through the placement of educational semaphores in school canteens of public schools in the municipality.

In many cases, the noise level staff and students of schools must support exceeds recommended by health authorities.

Moreover, communication habits are altered, having to communicate in a high voice tone.

Lowering the noise level improves student performance significantly improves the working environment of teachers and the level of communication in daily school activities.

This project will start in school canteens, but allow their use in classrooms and hallways and other units of schools.

The system, though in itself represents an important aid, represents only an initial mechanism that can be accompanied by various educational activities designed by the center, so that students understand and integrate their behavior communication habits more adequate and quiet.

The educational traffic light informs students when the tolerable noise level is exceeded.

If the noise level increases, the traffic light changes from green to yellow.

If you exceed the programmed level of noise, jumping red lights and an audible signal is played.

Thus, excess noise becomes visible and audible for students.

The noise level can be adjusted manually can be programmed to different situations and areas of school life.

As a first action and pioneering experience the first educational traffic light be installed in the CEIP Maestro Francisco Martínez Bernal, to continue with other schools in the municipality.
