The presentation of Molina de Segura Smart City Master Plan took place on Friday March 6, in the Hall of City Hall molinense.
Attended by the Mayor of the town, Eduardo Contreras Linares, Councillor for Information Technology and Communication (ICT), Reme López Paredes, and the Director of the company FIRMA Project and Training SL, Estañ Purification Garcia-Salcedo.
Molina de Segura is the first municipality in the Region of Murcia has prepared this document, in order to guide the action of the government team to turn Molina de Segura in an "intelligent, transparent, open and participatory" city offering "excellent services to its citizens" in a context of "economic sustainability" and "total respect for the environment".
The Molina de Segura Smart City Master Plan includes actions to be taken in the period 2014-2020, based on the strengths, weaknesses and opportunities of the municipality, with the objectives of promoting the participation of citizens in key aspects of municipal development, relying in the use of ICT have electronic transactions in all municipal services, Municipal acquire intelligence through the sensing of key services for citizens, and integration of information in a technological platform for Smart City.
Molina de Segura belongs to the Spanish Network of Smart Cities, formed by the main cities of Spain leading innovation systems, actively participating in the groups of Social Innovation and Government, Economics and Business.
Also belongs to the Network INNPULSO Ministry of Economy and Finance, composed of the cities that have earned the City of Science and Innovation, participating in group Empower tools for generating innovative SMEs and the Support European projects, with the aim of participating in European project and access the 2014-2020 ERDF funds.
The town, always attentive to the changes brought by the passage of time, has often been a pioneer in implementing new models of city management based on environmentally sustainable development, technologically advanced, settled on the basis of public collaboration -private and active citizen participation in municipal management issues.
With this Master Plan a new stage of continuous improvement to the growth of the municipality, materialized through the growth of its citizens and businesses drives while maintaining the principles and commitments of participation, equal opportunities, economic and environmental sustainability, and that shall record on the basis of a technological infrastructure that facilitates the intelligent management.
PLAN 2014-2020
To develop the Smart City project was launched both the City of Molina de Segura, with your project team and the heads of the departments, as an external consultant team, which held a collection and classification of data and a study on the topic.
After the resolution of doubts, review and validation by the City, the consultant team created a report of findings and presentation, from them, make the SWOT analysis.
From this analysis has created this master plan for the Smart City project.
OBJECTIVES
1. Encourage the participation of citizens in key aspects of municipal development based on the use of ICT.
2. Provide electronic transactions in all municipal services.
3. Acquire local intelligence through the sensing of key services for citizens and integration of information in a technological platform for Smart City.

GOVERNMENT:
The government of Molina de Segura is fully committed.
Citizens already have experience in the use of ICT.
From the Electronic Office already can perform numerous procedures.
The City has experience in providing services through public-private partnership formulas.
TIC:
The City has technologically advanced systems and robust information.
The low level sensing requires significant investments.
Urgent need for coordination between different areas of City Hall.
POPULATION:
The population is experiencing sustained growth and a remarkable economic expansion.
Population statistics show a good level of children and young people.
Wide dissemination and use of smartphones among the population, a factor that will offer numerous possibilities.
Bet the City by the incorporation of technological training.
ECONOMY:
Municipal commitment to the venture.
Important infrastructure business spaces.
Dynamic, innovative and high technology business sector profile.
Collaboration between public officials and merchants and restaurateurs of the municipality.
MOBILITY:
Good geographical location for easy access to major land routes and major ports and airports.
The incipient development of a Mobility Plan in the municipality that is aligned with the goal of Smart City.
HOUSING:
Molina de Segura has a housing stock that has good condition.
Percentage of Internet-connected broadband households reaches 69%.
ENVIRONMENT AND ENERGY:
Development model based on sustainable management, both from an environmental and economic and social.
SERVICES:
The government of Molina de Segura provides citizens with quality services in different areas of competence.
Broad portfolio of services to support people with special needs.
The municipality has 11,000 square meters of culture and art which implies an opportunity for the development of Smart City projects that contribute to the economic growth of the municipality.
