Almudena Grandes, Bernardo Atxaga, Julio Llamazares, Maite Carranza and Benjamin Prado, Cycle Writers protagonists in ink Molina de Segura 2015 (05/02/2015)

Bernardo Atxaga, Benjamin Prado, Maite Carranza, Almudena Grandes and Julio Llamazares participate in the ninth edition of Literary Writers Lecture Series in ink 2015, organized by the City of Molina de Segura, in collaboration with the Caixa.

The cycle has been presented at a press conference, Thursday February 5, by the Mayor of the town, Eduardo Contreras Linares, Councillor for Culture, Worship Molina López, and the coordinator of the cycle, journalist and writer Lola Grace.

The first date of this edition will take place on Tuesday 10 February at 20.00 pm in the Library Salvador García Aguilar (in Chorrico Avenue, No. 44), with the Gipuzkoa Bernardo Atxaga.

Fully consolidated, with great response from both the public and the media, the cycle is included within the firm commitment by the book and reading it began more than a decade the City of Molina de Segura, and has turned the city into a cultural landmark in literary matters.

In previous editions of the cycle has involved some of the most prominent writers of the national and international scene, from the French Michel Houellebecq or the Peruvian Alfredo Bryce Echenique, to live classics of Spanish literature as Eduardo Mendoza, Enrique Vila-Matas, Javier Cercas Rosa Montero and Juan Jose Millas, among many others.

The series, coordinated by the Department of Culture in collaboration with journalist, writer and presenter Lola Grace, bring this year to three authors who are considered key names in contemporary Spanish literature and began to excel at the end of the 80s the last century: Almudena Grandes (March 17), Bernardo Atxaga (February 10) and Julio Llamazares (March 26).

They are joined by the poet and novelist Benjamin Prado (February 26).

As every year, the cycle does not neglect the presence of writers aimed at younger audiences;

This year's guest will Maite Carranza, National Prize for Children's Literature, which will have meetings with secondary school students and primary municipality on 12 and 13 March respectively.

BERNARDO ATXAGA

(Asteasu, Guipúzcoa, 1951)

Degree in Economics, held various offices until, in the early eighties, he devoted himself entirely to literature.

His acclaimed book Obabakoak (1989) received the Euskadi Awards, Critics, and National Narrative Millepages being made into a film with the title Obaba.

Followed novels like The one man (1994, National Critics Award narrative in Basque), Two Brothers (1995) and Those Heaven (1996).

The Accordionist's Son (2004) and Seven Houses in France (2009) received international recognition.

It translated into thirty-two languages, is also the author of books of poetry and a member of the Academy of the Basque Language.

BENJAMIN PRADO

(Madrid, 1961)

As a poet is considered close to culturalism and has published, among other poems, Shelter from the storm (1995, Hyperion Award) and Ecuador, which collects all his poetry until 2002. He has co-written with Joaquín Sabina several songs, including disk Vinegar and Roses (2010), and collaborated with other musicians like Coque Malla or Laziness group.

Also writer, a novelist has published, among others, Bizarre (1995) Never turn your hand to a left-handed shooter (1996) or people walking Mala (2006).

His most recent novel is Operation Gladio (2011).

His work has been translated into a dozen languages.

Maite Carranza

(Barcelona, ​​1958)

It began in youth literature in 1986 with chestnut Shot !, Critics Prize Serra d'Or.

(Madrid, 1960)

His later novels work has earned him numerous awards and has become a key name in contemporary Spanish literature.

Highlights Malena, Atlas of Human Geography, Rough Winds or The frozen heart, several of them adapted for the big screen.

Regular columnist for El País, is currently completing his monumental tetralogy Episodes endless war, whose first three installments are Inés and joy, the reader of Jules Verne and The three wedding Manolita.

JULIO LLAMAZARES

(Vegamián, León, 1955)

Born in a village that no longer exists, his work encompasses virtually all genres.

Your complete poetry is gathered in Verses and nettles and has written also celebrated travel books as The river of forgetfulness (1990), Trás-os-Montes (1998) or The Stone Roses (2008), unusual tour of Spain through cathedrals.

Also writer and storyteller, are the novels that have given greater fame, including Wolf Moon (1985) Yellow Rain (1988) or The sky Madrid (2005).

The latest is The Tears of San Lorenzo (2013).

The author himself has said that his view of reality is poetic and very close to earth.
