The XI Setenil Award 2014 for Best Story Book Published in Spain will be delivered on Thursday 11 December in the city of Molina de Segura (10/12/2014)

The prize of 10,000 euros, went to Boulevard, Javier Sáez de Ibarra, published by Pages Foam

The ceremony of the XI Setenil Award 2014 for Best Story Book Published in Spain, organized by the City of Molina de Segura, will take place on Thursday December 11 at 20.00 pm in the Plenary Hall of the City Council, with the assistance from the Mayor of the town, Eduardo Contreras Linares, the winner of XI Setenil Award, Javier Sáez de Ibarra, Councillor for Culture, Worship Molina López, the Jury President Hipolito G. Navarro, and the Director of IES Francisco de Goya Juan Garcia Cuevas.

The winner of this year was Javier Sáez de Ibarra, who has won the award for his work Boulevard, edited by Foam Pages (Madrid), among the 68 submitted by publishers in Spain.

Prior to the award ceremony character, will be awarded to the attention of the media, at 12.15 pm in the Centro Las Balsas (Calle Cartagena, next to Plaza of Griffins).

At 1245 hours, in the same place winner meeting with students from the IES of Molina de Segura.

In the afternoon, at 19.30, in Paseo Rosales, proceed to the discovery of a plaque commemorating the winner of Setenil Prize ceremony attended by the writer.

The plate was placed on a bench in the promenade area and contains a commemorative text of the award and an excerpt of the winning work and a drawing by the painter Juan Espallardo.

The Setenil Award, organized by the Culture Department of the City of Molina de Segura, is a national contest that rewards range books already published stories, and whose ultimate goal is to highlight this genre in our country.

It is worth 10,000 euros.

In previous editions have obtained Alberto Méndez, by The Blind Sunflowers, Juan Pedro Aparicio, for Life in white, Cristina Fernández Cubas, for poor relatives of the devil, Sergi Pàmies, for if you eat a lemon without making faces, Oscar Esquivias, by The Mark of Crete, Fernando Clemot for Tobacconists of Chiado, Francisco López Serrano, by habits of chance, David Roas, for Distortions, Clara Bound for travel book wrong, and Ignacio Ferrando, for the skin strangers.

The award-winning writer, Javier Sáez de Ibarra (Vitoria, 1961), lives in Madrid and works as a professor of language and literature at a high school.

He has published the poems Reasons (2006) and storybooks Spinoza Reader (2004), Proposal impossible (2008) and Water Watch.

Plastic Tales (2009), all published in Foam Pages.

With this latest book won the First International Short Story Award Ribera del Duero.

Regarding the award-winning book, Boulevard, Javier Sáez de Ibarra declared to have fled the melodramatic, what truculent and what alarmist: "I searched very simple facts, but with enough dramatic power."

This book, which the author himself has described as "broken", contains seventeen pieces ranging from stories of inspiration carveriana up nods to conceptual art.

The City of Molina de Segura has awarded this year's Recognition of Cultural Dissemination Setenil to Secondary School Francisco de Goya de Molina de Segura, for its work in promoting scientific, technological and research culture among the youth of the town, award they also deliver in the act.

The Department of Culture instituted in 2009 Recognition of Cultural Dissemination Setenil order to distinguish those persons, groups or institutions that, over the years, have performed activities to promote culture in the city in all its facets.

In the four previous editions has fallen on the bookseller Justina Jiménez Salcedo, on the entrepreneur and art gallery Juan Vicente Davalos, on Professor of Physics and organizer of the La Tertulia of Thursday, Francisco Javier Abellán on the Polyphonic Choir Hims Mola , and the Foundation for Medical Research (FEM) of Molina de Segura.

In this sixth edition, the Recognition of Cultural Dissemination Setenil has been awarded the Secondary School Francisco de Goya, a teaching center since its creation is strongly committed to the forefront and innovation.

On October 3, during the XXVII National Contest for Young Scientists convened by the National Institute of Youth, Institute Goya won five awards with three works of his students, recognized the work of the center itself with the top prize of this contest: Honorable Mention.

This success is not an isolated incident: the Goya Institute is participating in this contest since 2009, garnering the highest level in the work presented research and obtaining numerous awards for its students and teachers throughout the years.

Together with another institute of Burgos, is the only nationwide that has been selected twice to participate in the European Contest for Young Scientists.

Thanks to the participation and success of this molinense center and three other centers Murcia, the region has become a national leader in research in average lessons.

The merits of Goya Institute does not end up in the field of research.

It has always been an active participant in cultural activities organized by the City of Molina de Segura, especially literary.

It was also the first institute launched the book bank, at the initiative of teachers themselves, through which over 100 students benefited from the exchange of books within the same center for years before it happened to manage the AMPA.
