The Minister of Education and the Mayor of Molina de Segura visit the IES Eduardo Linares Lumeras to mark the start of classes in secondary (16/09/2014)

The Minister of Education, Culture and Universities of the Region of Murcia, Pedro Antonio Sánchez López, and the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Eduardo Contreras Linares have made a visit to IES Eduardo Linares Lumeras to mark the start of the course in Secondary Education Murcia on Tuesday 16 September.

They were accompanied by the Councillor for Education, Reme Lopez Paredes, and the center's director, Amparo Aloy Martínez.

"Since the Ministry of Education we have set ourselves the challenge of extending language teaching, and the aim that students can finish compulsory education with an English language level that allows them to communicate in situations or professional study, representing reach a level B1 "said Pedro Antonio Sánchez.

To this end, the new curriculum in the secondary that has begun to work the Ministry of Education in the 'Education + Quality + School Success' strategy, and consult with the education community, strengthen the core subjects and learning foreign language.

Within this objective is also to be extended to all institutes the opportunity to study in a bilingual mode.

Currently, nearly 80 percent of public schools in the region offering students studying in Spanish and English, with Molina de Segura a municipality pioneered this area, since all its institutes (HEIs Vega Tader , Francisco de Goya IES, IES Cañada de las Eras and Eduardo Linares Lumeras IES) offer bilingual mode.

The total number of students enrolled in the first grade of secondary education in Molina de Segura (public and private schools) amounts to 851, and the total of the four years of ESO is 2,993 students enrolled.
