The City of Molina de Segura contest awards prizes Drawing School headed duck: duck blue spike (06/06/2014)

The closing ceremony of the Environmental Education Project for the conservation of the White-headed Duck in the Region of Murcia and Awards Contest Drawing School headed duck: duck blue peak, organized by the Municipality of Molina de Segura through the departments of Urban and Natural Environment and Education, took place today Friday 6th June at the Municipal Plenary Hall.

Attended the event the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Eduardo Contreras Linares, and the Councillor for the Environment and Urban, Juana Carrillo Muñoz.

The competition is aimed at students of Primary Education schools in the municipality, and participants had to submit a work that was focusing on the White-headed Duck and Las Lagunas de Campotéjar, and how it can work for conservation.

The technique and style were free.

They settled in 3 categories, one for each cycle of primary education and an award category, which consists of a tablet.

An award for teaching center with more papers presented at the competition, worth a lot of books on environmental issues was also established.

The winners are:

1st Cycle of Primary:

Winner: The King of the lagoon, Cantero Martha Hernandez of Colegio Los Olivos (1st Primary)

Special mention: I do not want this future for the blue-billed duck, Luis Jarava Roda, San Pablo CEU College (2nd Primary);

Light Peak, Alberto Briones Canton College San Pablo CEU (2nd Primary);

and blue-billed duck, Immaculate Seud Romero, San Pablo CEU College (2nd Primary).

Primary 2nd Cycle:

Winner: a female-headed Duck and ducks and a duck flying, Diego Cevallos Vera, CEIP Gregorio Miñano (4th Primary).

Special mention: The sunset in Campotéjar, Julieta Martínez Permuy, CEIP Our Lady of Consolation (4th Primary);

Headed Duck, Diana Lifante Poltorak, San Pablo CEU College (3rd Primary);

The life and Malvasia, Angelita Martinez Dólera, Holy Family College (4th Primary).

3rd Cycle of Primary:

Winner: To continue flying, Santiago González Pérez, San Pablo CEU College (6th Primary).

Second prize: Set of birds, Ali El Yahyaoui The Abrout, CEIP Gregorio Miñano (6th Primary);

Cardós Laura Vicente, CEIP El Romeral (6th Primary);

and a haven for white-headed duck, Celdrán Rachel Perez, San Pablo CEU College (5th Primary).

The molinense session, through the Department of Natural and Urban Environment develops environmental education program LIFE09/NAT/ES/000516 conservation project Oxyura leucocephala (White-headed Duck) in the Region of Murcia, a European funded project European Commission, coordinated by the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia and in the municipalities of Mazarrón, Alhama de Murcia and Molina de Segura involved.

This environmental education program develops activities of social consciousness and awareness on the conservation of the White-headed Duck and its surroundings, Las Lagunas de Campotéjar, a natural area of ​​Molina de Segura considered a Wetland of International Importance or Ramsar site and Special Protection Area declared for (SPAs).

This recognition has been granted just for hosting a large colony of Oxyura leucocephala (White-headed Duck), waterfowl endangered.
