The Oven House Museum + Folklore Council of Molina de Segura organizes a goldsmith workshop on Sunday May 18 (16/05/2014)

The goldsmith workshop, organized by the Department of Tourism and Culture of the Municipality of Molina de Segura in the Oven Museum Council and House of Folklore (Cid Street in Barrio del Castillo), will be held on Sunday, May 18, from 11.30 to 13.30.

This day, visitors who come to the Museum Council Oven will learn the unique characteristics of the oven until the eighteenth century of the city, and, using the metal and your own creativity, will make ornaments and keychains or pendants.

This activity is aimed at children and youth, and is part of the Program of International Museum Day, with the theme collections create connections.

Furnace Town + House Museum of Folklore

It is a unique example of architecture of the XVII-XVIII centuries, located in the Barrio del Castillo born after the recovery and rehabilitation of older furnace this city: the oven Castle.

The building retains almost all its original structure, made with the ancient technique of rammed earth and which highlights the great dome of its impressive Moorish oven.

The halls are consisting of:

• Living Bread: where we talk about the architecture, history and stories of this oven and its people.

• Media Room: is projected on the walls and the dome of the oven extraordinary audiovisual surround the tireless work of the baker, night after night kneads his bread.

• Living Folklore: Round, street musicians, dance traditions and sounds come together in this room for visitors to know and enjoy the rich folklore of Molina de Segura.

• Sala del Pozo: the vault, meeting place of the traditional houses of the orchard.
