Molina de Segura holds its Spring 2014 Book from 28 April to 21 May (25/04/2014)

The Setenil Award for Best Story Book Published in Spain, worth 10,000 euros for the winner, is one of the few awards of its kind in Spain and has among its objectives to strengthen the recognition of the story as a literary genre in our country.

For this 11th edition, the jury will be chaired by renowned story writer Hipólito G. Navarro, much of whose work is published in the book The latest mishaps.

Members of the jury will be the writer and psychoanalyst Lola Lopez Mondejar and professor and literary critic José Belmonte Serrano.

The previous winners were Setenil Alberto Mendez, Juan Pedro Aparicio, Cristina Fernández Cubas, Sergi Pàmies Oscar Esquivias, Clemot Fernando, Francisco López Serrano, David Roas, Obliged Clara and Ignacio Ferrando.

Jurors were chaired respectively by Juan Manuel de Prada, Luis Mateo Díez, Luis Alberto de Cuenca, Ana María Matute, José María Merino, Javier Tomeo, Andrés Neuman, Fernando Iwasaki and Cristina Fernández Cubas.

The last edition, to commemorate 10 years of the award, repeated as president Juan Manuel de Prada.

The Department of Culture of the Municipality of Molina de Segura, in order to help strengthen the recognition of the story as a literary genre in our country, announces the XI SETENIL PRIZE 2014, aimed at rewarding the best book of short stories published in Spain in the period which the notice relates, in accordance with the following

BASES

I may attend the XI SETENIL PRIZE storybooks in that the following characteristics:

Books must have been published between the dates of April 23, 2013 (Book Day) and April 22, 2014, meaning that published in the book production process (printing and binding) is done.

It must be single-story collections and author of Spanish nationality.

While they may have been originally published in either of the official languages ​​of the Spanish State, it may only be submitted to this contest edition in Spanish.

In the case of works originally written in languages ​​other than Castilian state, date to be considered will be the publication of the translated work.

The decision on what is or is not a "story book" refers only to the jury.

May not participate books are reprints of earlier, or anthologies of stories already published in book form.

However, compilations permitted where the stories have appeared only in periodicals.

They may submit books vying for the prize both publishers directly, any natural or legal person, enclosing:

Two copies of each of the books presented, that once completed the process remain the property of the City of Molina de Segura funds to enrich its network of public libraries.

III.

IV.

The deadline for the submission of copies will end on June 30, 2014.

V. one indivisible prize is established in the amount of $ 10,000 for the winning author.

VI.

The process of failure is as follows:

A pre-selection committee will choose up to 10 finalists books from all the entries.
