Antonio Rodriguez Jimenez will receive the title of Son of El Llano de Molina on Friday November 16 (15/11/2012)

The official ceremony of handing over the title of Son of El Llano de Molina Antonio Rodriguez Jimenez will take place on Friday, November 16, at 19.30 pm in the Social Center of the hamlet of El Llano de Molina.

The event will be chaired by the Mayor of the town, Eduardo Contreras Linares, who will present the award.

Antonio Rodriguez Jimenez was born in El Llano de Molina on June 15, 1936.

He is married since 1969 with Arroyo Laura Montes, a native of Grenada, national teacher, and retired, and has two children.

After graduating, he joined his first assignment as a National Teacher March 28, 1960 at the then newly opened Public School Our Lady of Consolation, of Molina de Segura, along with a group of teachers who were among molinenses notable teachers as Francisco Ruiz Gómez, Fulgencio Sánchez Manzano, Angel Hernandez Luna (first national teacher of the Plain), Francisco Gil Vicente and Manuel Arnaldos Perez, among others.

He was in the first destination only four months until the end of the year 1959/1960.

Later he was assigned to Mosqueruela, in the province of Teruel, in a school group of which he became director.

By next year (1961/1962) would exercise the magisterium in its native Llano, being destined then (curso1962/1963) to Lorquí.

Next came seven straight years at the College of Ribera de Molina (1963/1971).

During this stage enjoyed scholarships to attend courses such as Psychology (course 1967/1968) in the Madrid headquarters of FERE (Spanish Federation of Religious Education), making numerous stays and internships in prestigious schools in the capital of Spain related teaching materials, medical, pharmaceutical among others, highlighting their training with notable scientists and psychologists of the time.

Also take place at this time (current 1968/1969) Therapeutic Pedagogy studies, in Murcia, where he studied and graduated in its first class as a teacher in that area.

Later, during 1971/1972, would target the San Antonio Bar Association, in Molina de Segura, and would shortly after the Public School San Miguel where he would retire in 1996, after more than forty years of teaching.

Throughout his long career as a teacher has received several awards from the Ministry of Education and Science, as are the votes of grace, the highest recognition that, in an official report, could receive an active teacher in the way they work and the way to understand the teaching.

It was a man eager for knowledge, with evident desire to excel, restless and motivator, respected and appreciated by his colleagues and by the many generations of students who passed through its halls.

He founded, along with other neighbors, in 1971, the first association of residents of El Llano de Molina, under the name Neighborhood Association householders, being president of the company for twelve years, until 1983.

From 1995 to 2011, for sixteen years, has served as village headman of El Llano de Molina, highlighting its commitment to this district molinense and being an ardent and staunch defender of the interests of the same.

During these twenty-eight years of dedicated service and social fought for "shaping" to El Llano, as he says, working to provide basic services and infrastructure such as electricity, water, roads and paths to the district, seeking aid agencies such as the Irida, Chamber of Agriculture, etc., and sometimes with their own contribution to the neighbors.

During these years contributed to the creation of the then sitting Labor Immaculate, Molina de Segura, Municipal Nursery School today.

Aside from his practice, master, and the period of president of the Association of Residents and village headman of El Llano, Antonio Rodriguez is also known to be a history buff.

So, has spent many hours collecting and researching the history of the town, especially the El Llano de Molina, writing numerous articles which demonstrates a genuine, thorough and well-documented knowledge of everything related to the historical events of Molina de Segura and The Llano.

Man affable, polite, faithful follower of any obligations imposed on him or her profession as a teacher in charge of village headman, and others like her historical research, Antonio Rodriguez has gathered around him unanimous affection people and institutions of El Llano de Molina, aware of the importance and relevance of this man, asked the council to grant the provenance public recognition for his career.
