UPyD rejects new tax increase (12/11/2012)

The Municipal Council of UPyD in Molina de Segura rejected in plenary on Monday called for the new rise of taxes and public fees proposed by the government of the Popular Party.

Specifically, it provides a general increase of 3.9% for all municipal taxes, as well as a new charge on the receipt of waste 2%, adding to rising water because of their increased Commonwealth price Taibilla.

This new revision of mandatory tax due, according to the spokesman explained UPyD, Encarna Hernandez, "a fiscal forecasts already covered in the local set plan for the next 10 years, the preparation of which was imposed by the government of the nation to that the City could face more than 10 million euros owed to suppliers for outstanding invoices. "

Under the plan of adjustment, "the fees and public in our town will grow annually by 0.5 points above the national CPI."

Hernandez lamented that the PP does not find an alternative that "the mere tax collection effort to balance the books, to achieve financial balance between the services provided by the municipality and what citizens pay for them."

Spokesman for the local "is a problem of mismanagement of city resources."

Furthermore, she added that certain services, such as offering sports facilities, "must adjust their prices to the improvement of health, also offering more quality and facilities in better shape, to make them more attractive and thus attract more users"

To UPyD, "not the time" to implement a new tax increase when, in parallel, lower wages and unemployment figures have alarming.

"Once again, citizens pay the account of poor management by the City Council with tax burdens that only aim to save the furniture of municipal accounts, regardless of family economies that can not anymore."

For Hernandez, "such measures are taken only an institution that lives outside the social reality around him."

Political education does see some positives in this proposed rate review, but "are few and of little significance", specifically, UPyD support the imposition of a tax on banks for ATMs that occupy the streets, and the 30% bonus for new operating licenses in the municipality for the year 2013.

In this sense, Hernández said that "these bonuses are expected to continuity beyond to support entrepreneurial activity and job creation in the town, gradually reducing the tax burden and bureaucratic."
