Presented the findings of Project Athena to support new entrepreneurs (11/07/2012)

The presentation of findings and presentation of diplomas to the participants in the Athena Project, sponsored jointly by the Murcian Business and Professional Women of the Region of Murcia (OMEP) and municipalities Molina de Segura and Totana to support new entrepreneurs, was held on Wednesday July 11 in the auditorium of the CROEM.

Attended by the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Eduardo Contreras Linares, the Director of INFO, Juan Hernandez Albarracin, the Mayor of Totana, Isabel Maria Sanchez Ruiz, President of OMEP, Manuela Marin Gomez and Employment Councillor, Sonia Carrillo Marble .

This is a pioneering experience in the Region of Murcia, which offers a mentoring service to novice entrepreneurs.

Mentoring is a personal learning process by which a person takes ownership and responsibility for their own personal and professional development.

The mentor helps the practitioner to develop skills more in line with their potential and achieve, with their behaviors, pool knowledge and skills with other colleagues to meet the global requirements of the company.

To this end, establishing a personal relationship addressed by the mentee through which the mentor spends time, share their knowledge and focuses its efforts so that the mentee has new perspectives, enrich their thinking and develop their full potential as person and professional.

The project received a grant from the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism to OMEP as coordinator and project leader who channels the relationship between the Ministry and municipalities Molina de Segura and Totana, as promoters of support centers for entrepreneurs.

The budget amounts to 66,645 euros, and has a grant of 36,025 euros.

Participation in the project responds to the following ratio: 37% OMEP, 31% city of Molina de Segura and 31% City of Totana.

Sources of funding it has been 25% self-financing, undertaken by the three participants in the proportion established and through the cost of human resources for the project and 75% external funding.

Entrepreneurs whose businesses have participated had less than three years old and entrepreneurship with available time and interest in sharing experience.

In the case of Molina de Segura, participated as mentorizadas: Alarcon Virginia Marble Company Limvimur, SL (comprehensive cleaning, maintenance facilities, elder care) and Frances Nicholas Piqueras, Crane Company Molina.

And as mentors: Francisco Fernandez Ros, Door Safe, Diego Gil Nicolas, Crane Alternative and Cayetano Sanchez Gil, Asemol.
