The award ceremony of the XVII Literary Contest March 8, organized by the Department of Equality of the city of Molina de Segura, will take place on Monday 23 April at 20.00 am in the Plenary Hall of the City Council.
Attended by the Mayor of the town, Eduardo Contreras Linares, and the Councillor for Equality, Reme Lopez Paredes.
This year there were 72 participants, 33 in the category of poetry and 39 short stories from different municipalities in Murcia: Molina de Segura, Murcia, Guadalupe, Las Torres de Cotillas, Alhama de Murcia, Beniel, Ceuta, Alguazas, Cartagena and La Alberca.
The awards listed for each of the categories are as follows: 1 st prize, 360 euro, 2nd prize, $ 300, and 3 rd prize, 220 euro.
In each category are given two runners.
Explains the Councillor for Equality, Reme Lopez Paredes, "With this event we intend to open the door to writing, encouraging the creation and dissemination of literary women of the Region of Murcia. The continuity of this cultural roots and their demonstrated population show the creative dynamism of the writers of Molina de Segura and the Region of Murcia, and his works arouse interest in society, thus completing the much needed transmission sequence of the art of literature, ranging from the fertile imagination of the writer to receive the grateful people who find pleasure in reading of new knowledge and feelings. "
