The 2012 Spring Book Molina de Segura is celebrated from April 23 to May 15 (18/04/2012)

The basis of the Ninth Award for Best Setenil Story Book Published in Spain and the program of activities of the Spring 2012 Book of Molina de Segura, scheduled by the Department of Culture of the City of Molina de Segura, were presented at a press conference Wednesday April 18, by the Mayor of the town, Eduardo Contreras Linares, and the Councillor for Culture, Mariola Martinez Robles.

The IX Setenil Award for Best Story Book Published in Spain, 10,000 euros for the winner, is one of the few awards of its kind in Spain and has among its objectives to strengthen the recognition of the story as a literary genre in our country.

Its impact is increasing, and proof of this is that the substantial contribution generates, with 64 titles in the last edition.

Eligible for the prize collections of short stories published in Spain between April 23, 2011 and April 22, 2012.

This year's jury is chaired by the writer Cristina Fernández Cubas.

Born in Arenys de Mar (1945), graduated in law and journalism and translated into 10 languages, is the author of renowned books of accounts as poor relatives of the devil, with which he won the third prize Setenil.

His story collection All prizes won Barcelona City Salammbo and Qwerty.

The Department of Culture of the City of Molina de Segura, in order to help strengthen the recognition of the story as a literary genre in our country, announces the SETENIL PRIZE IX 2012, designed to reward the best book of stories published in Spain in the period referred to the summons, according to the following

BASES

I.

May attend the IX PRIZE SETENIL stories in books that the following features:

The books must be published between the dates of April 23, 2011 (World Book Day) and April 22, 2012, meaning that at date of publication is complete the process of book production (printing and binding).

It must be short story collections of single author, and a Spanish national.

While they may have originally been published in any official language of the Spanish State, shall be submitted to this contest the issue in Spanish.

In the case of works originally written in other languages ​​other than Castilian state, date to be considered will be the publication of the translated work.

The decision on what is or is not a "story book" is solely for the jury.

Not eligible books that are reprints of earlier, or anthologies of short stories previously published in book form.

However, collections will be accepted when the stories have appeared only in periodicals.

II.

May submit books vying for the prize as the editors directly, as any natural or legal person, enclosing:

Two copies of each of the books presented, that once the process become the property of the City of Molina de Segura funds to enrich its network of municipal libraries.

A statement signed by the sender in which is stated: that the book production process is completed within the dates specified in paragraph I, and its author is Spanish.

III.

Proposals must be submitted to the Department of Culture of the City of Molina de Segura, Building The Catch, c / Mayor, 81, 30500 Molina de Segura, with the words "Setenil Award."

IV.

The deadline for the submission of copies will end on June 30, 2012.

V.

Establishing a single and indivisible prize amounting to 10,000 euros for the winning author.

The prize can not be declared void.

VI.

The City of Molina de Segura publish a handout containing a sample of the winning-whether one or more stories, or a fragment, and that will be distributed not for sale between publishers, critics, writers, universities and related institutions with the book across the country.

VII.

The decision procedure is as follows:

A screening committee will select a maximum of 10 books finalists from all the entries.

The senders of the selected films must submit two additional copies to the organization.

A jury appointed by the Department of Culture, and composed of leading figures from the world of letters that have special relationship with the genre of the story, will meet in October 2012 to issue a ruling that will contact the winning author and the publisher.

VIII.

The award will be presented in a public ceremony to be held in Molina de Segura in December 2012, with assistance from the jury and will be preceded by a meeting with readers.

It will be inexcusable authorial presence that the prize awarded to become effective.

IX.

Any subsequent republication of the winning entry will be written in reference to read "IX Setenil Award 2012. City of Molina de Segura".

The City Council may be reproduced freely in any medium book cover winner, and a fragment thereof in the handout referred to the sixth base.

X.

The mere act of participating in this competition implies acceptance of these rules and the jury's decision will be final.

New this year we established the Route Gastronomic Authors Literary and Meteor, in which five of the authors narrate stories of Meteor to participants who wish to accompany them.

The tour also includes the consumption of four caps with beer and a cocktail, made especially for the occasion with the theme of the meteorite.

The tour also includes the consumption of four caps with beer and a cocktail, made especially for the occasion with the theme of the meteorite.

Starts at Restaurant Julian and continue for the following locations: Bar Santa Barbara, La Boutique Pikoteo, Bar Restaurant and Pub Celeste Center.

On Christmas Eve 1858, Molina de Segura landed on a giant meteorite.

Pilar Urbano (Valencia, 1940), passionate about journalism, has worked at a young age as a political commentator and columnist on ABC, I, Epoch and now the World.

The priest and poet Vicente Garcia Hernandez (Molina de Segura, 1935) has performed all genres and has numerous literary awards to his credit.

As a poet won the Polo de Medina in 1963 and was runner-up Adonais Prize in 1965 with his book The Birds.

Who also plays, has written novels Broken glass (prize Andres Baquero 1974) and The Holy Heresy (2006).

Tuesday May 15

Founded in 1998, Agora is a cultural landmark in the Region of Murcia.
