Initiated construction of a new roundabout access to the villages of La Alcayna and molinenses Altorreal from the municipality of Murcia (09/03/2012)

The construction of a roundabout access to the villages Altorreal and La Molina de Segura Alcayna from Murcia have started Friday March 9.

The Mayor of the town, Eduardo Contreras Linares, and the Councillor of Municipal Works, Vicente Fernandez Oliva, have made a visit to them.

Currently, access to these two developments from the road from New Condomina and Avenida Juan Carlos I of Murcia has been flooded at certain times of day due to the growing number of homes and vehicles passing the area in recent years .

This situation may be exacerbated in the coming years due to new urban developments expected in the environment, both in the municipality of Murcia and in the Molina de Segura.

In response to this circumstance, there is provided a series of actions aimed at improving access to housing developments and Altorreal The Alcayna well as future urban development of the environment.

The first of these actions is the implementation of a new roundabout access to such developments.

The roundabout will involve an investment of 500,000 euros, borne by the planning agreement of Las Cumbres de Molina, and the works will be executed within three months by developers, according to plans drawn up and approved by the city of Molina de Segura, with the following characteristics:

- Inner diameter and outer diameter of 22 meters to 46 meters with two traffic lanes 5 meters each, providing a direct incorporation lane from Altorreal to Murcia, so that vehicles coming from Altorreal that direction Murcia will not have to cross the roundabout.

- It adopts strong structural section using hot mix asphalt and artificial gravel base for the expected traffic.

- The rainwater collection will be made by ditches and drains ductile symphonic connected to the drainage system, including reinforced concrete pipes.

- Lighting used for the roundabout will be formed by a straight column of 14 meters in height to support symmetric projectors constructed of cast aluminum.

Also illuminate the surroundings of the roundabout.

- The signs and posters have chosen a level II Reflectance (SR).

- Finally, it provides for landscaping of the roundabout with artificial turf and planting native shrubs.
