The City of Molina de Segura is launching a new edition of the Social Integration Workshops for immigrants (19/01/2012)

The Department of Social Welfare of the City of Molina de Segura, through the Municipal Program for Immigrants, has launched a new edition of Social Integration Workshops, aimed at the immigrant population of the town.

The aim of these workshops is to promote social integration of the immigrant community in the municipality, for the knowledge and access to standard resources.

These workshops were initiated in 1999 and have continued until today.

The current edition began in late 2011 and end in June 2012, and has the participation of a total of 50 immigrant women, whose age is between 22 and 60 years, and whose most representative countries of origin are: Senegal, Nigeria, Argentina, Paraguay, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia, Morocco, Algeria and Romania.

The days of attendance at the workshops are on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 16.30 hours to 18.30, according to the established social insertion itinerary with the participants.

In the workshop sessions are held cooking, sewing, embroidery and fabric painting, thanks to the collaboration of specialized volunteers that develops these sessions.

Furthermore, given briefings on municipal resources, Health, Nutrition, Gender, Youth and Participation, with special emphasis on actions of City of Immigrants Programme, carried out by personnel of the Department of Social Welfare, other councils and other Social protection systems.
