The Department of Culture of the City of Molina de Segura has awarded this year's Recognition of Cultural Dissemination Professor Francisco Javier Setenil Abellán for organizing gatherings calls on Thursday for nearly two decades.
The Department of Culture established in 2009, the Recognition of Cultural Dissemination Setenil in order to distinguish those individuals, groups or institutions that, over the years, have performed activities to promote culture in the municipality, in any its facets.
In the previous two editions has been on the bookstore Justina Jimenez Salcedo and the businessman and art gallery Juan Vicente Davalos.
In this third edition, the Recognition of Cultural Dissemination Setenil has been given to Francisco Javier Garcia Abellan (Molina de Segura, 1954), MD, Professor of Applied Physics, University of Murcia.
Man of many interests both cultural and social, philosophical and scientific, Javier Abellán organized 18 years ago the first of his coterie of Thursday, at the Casino de Molina, with a conference about the new ESO.
Since then, the circles have been held every week on time over successive school years, having marched by them and having hundreds of speakers addressed the disparate themes.
The personal commitment and perseverance of Javier Abellán have allowed, despite having limited financial means, these gatherings have grown into a vital cultural reference in Molina de Segura.
Grateful for this recognition, Javier Abellán said that the award will be forced to continue to organize gatherings "at least ten years."
The presentation of this award will coincide with the delivery Setenil VIII Award, which will take place on 13 December at 20.00 am in the Plenary Hall of the City of Molina de Segura.
