Presentation of the Campaign "Book Bank" (22/06/2011)

Today, Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 11:00 pm in Press Room of the City of Molina de Segura, took place the presentation of the Campaign "Bank of Books."

The presentation was attended by the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Eduardo Contreras Linares and the Councillor for Education, Mariola Martinez Robles.

Also present were Andrew Lopez Puche, representing the school principals of Molina de Segura, and Meseguer Josefina Galindo, president of FAPA in the municipality.

The Bank of Books emerges as municipal initiative from the Department of Education, together with FAPA (Federation of associations of parents of the schools supported by public funds) and in collaboration with these schools and the Guidance Team Educational Psychology.

Originates from the unfavorable economic situation faced by some families in the municipality, in order to develop values ​​of solidarity and cooperation.

It is intended that the families work together in solidarity and selfless sharing books, ensuring that no school in the municipality is left without textbooks to complete their learning.

Families no longer need the books are delivered in a disinterested way so that other families can use them.

It has developed a brochure and a data collection sheet that will be managed by AMPAS in the centers, where families must address both in order to deliver books to apply.

The brochure express the goals of the campaign: to give the students the municipality of books and texts necessary for learning, care and awareness to the reuse of textbooks, to generate supportive attitudes toward students with financial difficulties and generate ecological attitudes and environmental conservation.

At the beginning of the school, and until September 16, you can place books and reference texts used on the premises of schools.

In the same brochure explains that you can donate books that are taught at school, with no more than four years old and that children are reading or primary text.

Families who need books, may apply at the school or the association of parents of students until September 16, 2011, filling an application form.
