The City of Molina de Segura (NAOS Strategy Award 2009) and Kellogg Corporate Citizenship Foundation has delivered today the award for the contest "I'm the best breakfast cole de Molina" to the college town of Los Olivos.
The prize consists of 5,000 euros to spend on equipment or sporting activities.
The contest was a complete success of participation where 16 of the 24 schools with primary education have been involved for months in their classrooms by presenting numerous proposals for high creativity and quality, such as plays, television programs, radio programs, songs, stories, comics, games, poetry, collages, multimedia presentations, various crafts, etc..
The jury was composed of 8 members including pediatricians and health professionals working in health centers, staff from the departments of Health and Education of the City and the Kellogg Foundation.
The school that had a higher score (73.5 points out of 80) was the Colegio Los Olivos submitted a proposal which valued the modernity of the project and the involvement of the entire educational community and the projection of the future and continuity.
For the award ceremony was held a party at school with sports and recreational activities throughout the day, tasting a healthy breakfast consisting of cereals, milk and fruit, visit Student Basketball Club players who have made a number of exhibits to children as well as the representation of the musical "Mundilandia" group Music Box Theatre and the representation of the play "discoverers breakfast" by school children.
The events began on Wednesday afternoon with a lecture by popular science to the public by Dr. Javier Aranceta, president of the Spanish Society of Community Nutrition and Covian Grande Award 2007, under the title "we feed our children?
conveyed the message of the importance of proper nutrition of children to prevent childhood obesity.
All these activities are part of the Educational Program "Discoverers of Breakfast" Breakfast Club of Kellogg `s, which the city of Molina de Segura has included in its Program for Childhood Obesity Prevention and Youth Molina de Segura on 17 June 2010 received by the Ministry of Health NAOS Award for Best Healthy Eating Program in School of Spain.
