Today Thursday, May 19, 2011, at 11:00 pm, the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Eduardo Contreras Linares, together with the Councillor for Sports of the municipality, Jesus Maeso Monge, has received representatives of the Okinawa Goju Association Riu Karate Spain in Molina de Segura.
José Fernández Guerrero, representing the national association, has delivered to the Mayor and Councillor for Sports of a commemorative plaque that highlights the work of City Hall in the dissemination of the sport and is distinguished by the particular efforts development and promotion in the municipality.
Fernández Guerrero pointed out that Molina de Segura, near Alhama, are the only two municipalities in Murcia to which this Association has honored for their work.
The decision to grant this distinction to the town of Molina de Segura, was adopted at a recent meeting of European training in the sport, held in Los Alcazares, and attended by many athletes from different European countries.
The Mayor has expressed his delight at receiving this award, which has been delivered to the Councillor for Sports, as head of the municipal area and thanked the effort of the sports groups and the City Council to promote all sports in the municipality.
