Opens a new nursery school in Molina de Segura with 106 places for children from 1 to 3 years (21/03/2011)

Has been driven by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Autonomous Community and the City

The government delegate in Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, the Minister of Education, Training and Employment, Sotoca Constantine, the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Eduardo Contreras Linares, and the Director General of Evaluation and Regional Cooperation (Ministry of Education), Rosa Peñalver, inaugurated this morning a new public center of Early Childhood Education in the municipality for children 1 to 3 years.

The construction of this new center is the result of a collaboration agreement between central, local and regional, within the Education Plan 3, so that the Ministry of Education has financed 538,390 euro to construction, the City Council Molina de Segura has given the land, and counseling has taken center equipment.

The center, which occupies over 900 square meters, has six classrooms, two of which will be aimed at children aged between 1 and 2 years and four groups of 2 to 3 years, making a total of 106 seats.

The mayor, Eduardo Contreras, stressed that with the opening of this center has fulfilled the commitment made in June 2010 to provide families molinense of a new kindergarten center, since the population of children 0 to 3 years in the municipality requires care infrastructure in this sector of children.

It has also indicated that the objective of the City Council in giving children a professionalized training.

"We want to flee the concept of kindergarten and going beyond, beginning educational skills training from an early age," he pointed out.

The Mayor has concluded that the best reward for work done "is that parents bring children to this center and see them develop positively" and announced an open day for the next few weeks.

For its part, the director general of Evaluation, Rosa Peñalver, stressed that this is the first center to open in the region, in the educational program 3, so the effort started by the mayor and the council of Education " ensure that the targets that have been set three years ago are now a reality. "

Penalver explained that this facility is in addition to the 1,150 new primary schools have been launched in the last three years in Spain through the Education Program 3 of the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the autonomous regions and municipalities.

In the case of the region, said the ministry has spent the past three years 10 million, which enabled the creation of 20 new primary schools that will serve to 1.940 families.

It also stressed the importance of early schooling as the best formula to help further the educational success of students, so called for further work on the creation of new positions and preschools.

For its part, the Government Delegate, Rafael González Tovar, emphasized that early childhood education centers are a prime need in our region, where there is a significant shortfall of places.

Tovar Gonzalez has stated that "this program is to give attention to the smallest professionalized, to ensure that families can reconcile family and work and create the skilled jobs that require many young people of our region."

The building opened with sitting areas, dining room and multipurpose room.

The classrooms are differentiated by color, giving a playful look to space.

The outer perimeter is glass south to take advantage of sunlight and communicate the interior and exterior spaces.
