The Director General of Planning and Housing, Antonio Navarro, accompanied by the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Eduardo Contreras, and the president of the Association of Psychosocial Rehabilitation Murcia, Luis Pelegrin, today visited the new facilities for the observation of the landscape in the municipality that, for its creation, have enjoyed the cooperation of the regional government.
Antonio Navarro said that "from the Ministry of Public Works and Planning, takes place a firm commitment for projects related to advocacy, awareness and conservation of landscape scenarios in the region, who are spread across the geography of the 45 municipalities. "
"This action," he went out for a strong didactic, so that visitors can appreciate and learn the values characteristic of the landscape of the Vega Media del Segura, while also helping a nonprofit organization for development activities for the benefit of society Murcia. "
For this purpose, we have created an interpretive space for the observation of the landscape, with explanatory signage where school groups and general visitors can see different perspectives of the natural values of the area.
It has also developed a tutorial, of which 2,500 copies have been published in order to bring the maximum number of citizens of a visual analysis on the properties of the landscape of his place of residence.
Similarly, it has launched a website which contains information about the types of landscape, in a study area comprising the municipalities of the Vega Media del Segura, like Molina, Lorqui Ceutí, Alguazas and The Cotillas towers.
The site also shows the importance of landscape and its characteristic values and an interactive map of attractions in the Shire.
A social project
For this project the Ministry has awarded a grant to the Association of Psychosocial Rehabilitation Murcia € 12,000, which constitutes 75 percent of the total cost of this scheme.
The Association, founded in 2002, is a nonprofit organization composed of mental health professionals in the region and dedicated to social and labor reintegration of people with mental illness and rehabilitation of drug addicts.
The Parque Los Juncos, operated by the Association, was built in 2007 in an area of 50,000 square meters donated by the City on the old heap of Molina de Segura, rehabilitated through the project "Ibn Arabi" by European funds and the Community .
The site has suitable facilities for disabled guests and is aimed at the realization of educational and recreational activities.
