The Autonomous Community has contributed 520,000 euros to build and equip the Center for Child Care (IAC) of the Alcayna in Molina de Segura, opened today by the Minister for Social Policy, Women and Immigration Bascuñana Joaquin, who was accompanied by Director General of Social Affairs, Gender and Immigration, Leopoldo Navarro, and the mayor, Eduardo Contreras.
The construction project amounted to 686,667 euros, of which the City contributed 166,667, including land value.
The new CAI, open all year, has a capacity of 107 seats, with six classrooms for children ages 4 to 36 months.
There are currently 87 children enrolled.
Hours are from 9:00 to 17:00 and has a special from 7:30 to 9:00 pm and from 17:00 to 20:00 for parents who request it.
The center, built on one floor over an area of 560 square meters, within a plot of 3,500, is managed by the Cooperative Education 'Los Olivos', which has 13 employees.
Its facilities include a multipurpose room and bedroom, plus kitchen and pantry.
Currently there are 484 subsidized child care spaces in the municipality molinense, from five centers, which are running 464, which represents an investment of EUR 2,032,670 of the Autonomous Region during 2006-2010.
At regional level, until last December, investment in facilities and points of childcare rises to 42,159,582 euros, which meant the grant of 8218 squares, corresponding to 110 CAI and PAI.
Of the 29 that are under construction, 26 will be operational during the current year and three in 2012.
