Inaugurated the rehabilitation works of the whales Rambla de Molina de Segura (10/02/2011)

The opening ceremony of the rehabilitation works of river paths on both banks of the whales Rambla de Molina de Segura, a project for the State Fund for Employment and Local Sustainability, was held on Thursday 10 February, in the Barrio de San Roque.

Attended by the Mayor of the town, Eduardo Contreras Linares, and the Delegate of the Government in the Autonomous Region of Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, accompanied by the Councillor for Public Roads, Parks and Gardens, Vicente Fernandez Oliva.

The stretch affected by the works is between the High Street and Great Captain.

The project has been executed by Schillings Brothers Construction Company, SA, amounting to 538,296.18 euros, and has involved the integration and improvement of the margins of the Boulevard of the whales in the town.

Highlights actions to improve accessibility between the barrios of San Roque Molineta and as well as pedestrian and bike lanes, 750 meters long and 3 feet wide, to promote recreational activities and sports on both sides .

They have installed two footbridges over the course of the avenue, has opened access to Main Street along the right side, and created new access ramps staggered and disabled, allowing the promenade is the nexus of the two neighborhoods .

Land have also been recovered from the right side, who previously had no pedestrian continuity.

All this allows greater use of adjacent areas and their integration.

The banks of the gully have new public facilities, two places of residence, a basketball court, two playgrounds different age (95 m2 and 220 m2 respectively), and two playgrounds Biosalud.

It has also renewed the furniture, the installation of 31 banks and 9 bins.

Finally, we have carried out the environmental restoration of slopes, planting trees (33 new trees) and has replacement street lighting (42 points), allowing the sports activities at night and increased public safety in the area.
