The formal ceremony of laying the first stone of the work of widening of the road in Molina de Segura RM/A5 held today Thursday, February 3, on the road RM/A5 Molina / Fortuna, near the motocross circuit Rabbits .

This is a performance about four miles in length from 7.2 points to 11.2 miles of road, including the widening of the road through the construction of a platform will have a total of 30 meters wide, with two lanes in each direction of 3.25 meters and a median of 2.5 meters, 0.5 meter shoulders interior and exterior of a meter.
All this, with an investment of 4,118,848 euros, financed by the Autonomous Community of Murcia, through the Ministry of Public Works and Territory Management.
The new road will have bike path parallel to the four miles from the action and also constructed two service roads and a drainage system to ensure appropriate conditions of service in case of rain.
Also, install a new lighting system to improve nighttime visibility, and renewed attention to warnings and the beacon.
Finally, it will install barriers to protect motorists in order to minimize injury in an accident.
This road connects residents to the north of Molina de Segura with the A30 highway, serving the residents of La Alcayna, Rabbits, Los Olivos, El Pino and El Romeral.
Improve road safety in access to these villages of Molina de Segura through roundabouts on their way, and provide a fast and convenient transit to all drivers, since it will have two lanes (one in each direction) to take four (two in each direction).
By passing it around 4,726,750 vehicles annually.
This action is part of the Collaboration Protocol between the city of Molina de Segura and the Ministry of Public Works and Planning for the implementation of the works of splitting of the A5 highway that connects Molina de Segura and Fortuna (from its origin in the town of Molina de Segura to the junction of The Alcayna), signed in July 2007.
It joins two other project listed in already completed:
PROPOSED ROUNDABOUT AT THE EXIT LINK No. 381, STATE HIGHWAY A30 (ALBACETE / CARTAGENA) WITH THE REGIONAL ROAD A5 (MOLINA DE SEGURA / FORTUNA), whose works already completed three years ago.
This is a large roundabout on the link to both roads, in order to improve traffic flow and road safety as it was one of the most contentious cross the area.
These works correspond to the Ministry of Development.
FITNESS PROJECT ROAD URBAN ENVIRONMENT A5 AL MOLINA DE SEGURA (AVENUE Gutierrez Mellado), whose works have already concluded two years ago.
Acting on two miles of road at the entrance to Molina de Segura, which includes the widening of the road, management of crossings with roundabouts, implementation of service roads and complete renovation of sidewalks, vegetation and lighting.
These works were executed by the city of Molina de Segura, with an investment of 2,887,528.91 euros.
