The International University Course on Psychiatry Sea in everyday life will be opened in Molina de Segura on Wednesday July 14 (13/07/2010)

Psychiatry in the course of everyday life, organized by the International Sea in cooperation with the city of Molina de Segura and the Medical Research Foundation Molina de Segura (FEM), will be opened on Wednesday 14 July, 0900 pm in the auditorium of the College of Education Child Paseo Rosales de Molina de Segura.

Attended by Mayor of Molina de Segura, Eduardo Contreras Linares, Councillor of Education, Mariola Martinez Robles, and the Course Director, Professor Dr. Francisco Fermín Romero Toledo.

Psychiatry in everyday life is directed by Dr. Francisco Toledo Romero, Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, University of Murcia and practitioner of the Hospital Universitario Virgen de la Arrixaca, and will be held from 14 to 16 July (230 hours).

Aims to bring the knowledge of psychiatric disorders in college students and mental health professionals, but is also open to general public.

Will address issues such as depression, suicide, dementia, panic attacks and agoraphobia, substance abuse, conduct disorder in adolescence, genes and personality and bipolar disorders.

The course is intended for physicians, psychologists, nurses and mental health workers and university students from Medicine, Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, and anyone interested in the subject.

The course schedule is as follows:

Wednesday 14

- 09.00 pm: Opening ceremony of the course.

- 09.15 pm: Is there a cure depression?, By Prof. Dr. Isabel Lozano Ortiz, Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, University of Murcia.

- 11.00 h.: Addiction and Mental Disorders, by Prof. Espí Fernando Martinez, Professor, Faculty of Medicine, University of Murcia.

- 13.00 pm: Psychic disorders in Alzheimer's onset, by Dr. Jesus Mesones Peral, Chief of Psychiatry at Hospital de Torrevieja (Alicante).

Thursday 15

- 09.00 h.: Psychology of conduct disorder in adolescence, by Prof. Dr. José Antonio Rabadán Rubio, Associate Professor and Psychologist of the Faculty of Education at the University of Murcia.

- 11.00 h.: therapeutic approach for panic attacks and agoraphobia, by Dr. Antonio Galbis Olivares, Specialist Psychiatrist, Anxiety Clinic of Psychiatry, Valencia.

- 13.00 h.: Suicidal behavior, by Prof. Dr. José Hernández Martínez, Professor of the Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, University of Murcia and Head of Psychiatry Department of the Hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca.

Friday 16

- 09.00 h.: From genes to behavior, by Dr. José Antonio López Rodríguez, Psychiatrist and Anthropologist of Clinical Psychiatry, Madrid.

- 11.00 h.: bipolar disorders, diagnosis and prevention of relapse, by Prof. Dr. Francisco Toledo Romero, Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, University of Murcia and practitioner of the Hospital Universitario Virgen de la Arrixaca.

- 13.00 h.: Closing conference on schizophrenia in the family, headed by Luis Rojas Marcos, Professor of Psychiatry at the University of New York.

- After the conference closing ceremony and awarding of diplomas
