The award ceremony of the VIII Dr. Francisco Guirado 2018 Prize, granted by the Molina de Segura City Council, took place today, Thursday, April 19, in the tent of the Health Forum, in the Plaza de España.
The Mayor of the town, Esther Clavero Mira, and the Councilor for Public Health, Esther Sánchez Rodríguez, attended.
The jury has agreed to award the award this year to the doctor of Molina Hospital Luis Alberto Ceruto Santander, and to the administrative center of Doctor Antonio García, Mari Carmen Garres Ruiz, in the individual category, and to Molina's rare diseases associations. Segura and federation FEDER Murcia, in the collective category.

Molina de Segura is a municipality where in the last 10 years 6 associations have been born and grown in the field of rare diseases, all this added to the great work of the FEDER Murcia delegation, which has produced great benefits to many Molinian citizens who they suffer from illnesses, disabilities, and their families.
The jury of the Doctor Francisco Guirado Prize wanted to recognize all this great collective effort, which has determined that this municipality is a national benchmark.
They have collected the prize: Juan Carrión Tudela, from FEDER;
Daniel Martínez Riquelme, from AMER;
Salvador García Fernández, of DISMO;
Isabel Antolinos Guillén, of AMLEA;
Fina López Peñalver, from ANSEDH;
David Sánchez González, of RETIMUR;
and Sonia García Padilla, from ASFAPE.
Mari Carmen Garres Ruiz, administrative director of the Dr. Antonio García Health Center, finishes her studies at the Higher Secondary School in the Vega del Táder Institute in Molina de Segura in 1972. During the years 1973 to 1974, she took the Diploma in Child Care at the Headquarters Provincial Health in Murcia.
From April 1975 to June 1978, he worked at the emergency door of the Virgen de la Arrixaca Hospital.
In June 1978, he began his professional career in the office located on Calle Mayor de Molina de Segura.
It is in the month of October of 1984 when she joins the Doctor Antonio García Health Center, being currently the head of administration.
Luis Alberto Ceruto Santander was born in 1953 in Niquera, province of Oriente, Cuba.
He studied Medicine at the Calixto García School of the University of Havana.
And he specialized in Internal Medicine and Intensive Care.
He taught as an assistant professor of Internal Medicine, Propaedeutics and Clinical Semiology at the Calixto García School of the University of Havana.
And for 20 years, he was Head of the Intensive Care Unit of the Freire de Andrada Hospital, in Havana.
Already in Spain, he approved his university degree as a Bachelor of Medicine and joined the Hospital de Molina in 2008, as a doctor in the Emergency Department, where he currently practices.
During these 10 years in Molina de Segura, Luis Alberto Ceruto Santander has developed a huge work of dissemination of health among citizens, not only Molinense, but also the Comarca de la Vega Media, with the aim of promoting prevention and prevention pathologies
For this, he has collaborated with different press, radio and television media, offering healthy advice.
And he has given numerous lectures addressed to different population groups, such as Secondary and Baccalaureate students, women's associations, people with disabilities and patient associations.
