The Molina de Segura City Council and the Jesús Abandonado Foundation sign a collaboration agreement to assist people in a situation of social exclusion (13/03/2018)

As a novelty, the Foundation undertakes to take into account the Social and Labor Insertion Exchange of the Molina de Segura City Council, aimed at favoring the integration into the labor market of people in situation of unemployment in the municipality.

The act of signing the collaboration agreement between the City of Molina de Segura and the Jesus Abandoned Foundation to care for people in situations of social exclusion or at serious risk of being, attending to basic needs and accompaniment in the process of comprehensive recovery has had place today Tuesday, March 13, in the municipality of Molinense.

The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, the President of the Jesus Abandoned Foundation, José Moreno Espinosa, and the Councilor for Social Welfare, Ángel Navarro García, attended.

The agreement contemplates a municipal subsidy of 6,500 euros, and is signed with the following objectives: to cover the basic needs of food for people in situations of social exclusion or in serious risk of being;

consolidate training and training programs, in order to improve the preparation to access the labor market of people at social risk;

and provide coverage of basic needs to pedestrians in the hostel of the entity.

Through this agreement responds to the diverse needs of the group of homeless people in the municipality of Molina de Segura, which often present high deterioration of physical and mental abilities, and with absence of support in social and family networks, through the services and resources offered by the collaborating entity.

The Foundation's commitment to take into account the Social and Labor Insertion Exchange of the Molina de Segura Town Council, aimed at favoring the integration in the labor market of people in situation of unemployment in the municipality, is introduced as a novelty.

The Fundación Patronato Jesús Abandonado serves people in a situation of social exclusion, without a roof, without economic resources and in solitude.

The number of people served in 2017 in the dining room service is 2,295 people per year, differentiated by sex in 2,046 men and 249 women.

Of the total, 65% belong to the group of immigrants and the age range of people served is between 31 and 65 years.

During 2018, the planned food services are 330 meals and dinners on average, and 200 daily breakfasts.

There is a forecast to serve 2,000 people with the development of said actions.

The actions aimed at the homeless are the following:

Information, guidance and advice.

Opening of the dining room at 2:00 pm, for meals, and 6:00 pm.

for dinners.

Opening of shelter for the overnight homeless.

Individualized help for the treatment of various problems, such as addictions, chronic physical and psychological diseases.

Realization of occupational craft workshops, educational, psychosocial rehabilitation.

Active search of housing.

Short-stay accommodation and accompanying activities.

Psychosocial support to homeless people in the process of detoxification and other groups, such as convalescents.

The entity has the hostel located at Carretera Santa Catalina, n ° 55, in Murcia.

The social dining room is located in Calle Eulogio Soriano n ° 2 of Murcia, for lunch and dinner.

There is a free shuttle service for transferring people from the soup kitchen to the hostel.

The Foundation has a staff of 72 workers, including social workers, psychologists, cleaning staff, kitchen, quality area, administration and more than 300 people as volunteers.
