Roman Lucernas, organized by the Department of Culture of the City of Molina de Segura, the Valencian Community Foundation MARQ, the Provincial Council of Alicante, and the Archaeological Museum of Alicante (MARQ), opens its doors to the public from March 12 to June 6 of 2018, in the Museum of the Enclave of the Wall, MUDEM (in Ibn Arabí Street, s / n).

The inauguration ceremony took place today, Monday, March 12, and was attended by the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, the Councilor for Culture, Pedro Jesús Martínez Bańos, the Managing Director of MARQ, Josep Albert Cortés i Garrido, the curator of the exhibition, Ana García Barrachina, the Regional Director of Banco Sabadell, Gloria Abellán.

The sample can be visited during the regular MUDEM schedule:

Tuesday: from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Saturdays: from 5 pm to 8 pm

Sundays: from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Closed Monday.

The exhibition has different pieces from different museums in the Valencian Community: the Archaeological Museum of Alicante (MARQ), the Alchemy Museum of Elche and the Municipal Museum of Elda.

It is celebrated in the MUDEM thanks to the collaboration agreement between the City of Molina de Segura, through the Department of Culture, and the Valencian Community-MARQ Foundation.

It has the sponsorship of the Banco Sabadell Foundation and also the Monographic Museum of the Alcudia de Elche and the Municipal Archaeological Museum of Elda.

Luz de Roma is formed by a collection of lamps from the Roman period and reveals its usefulness, the shape and decoration of these small objects that have been changing throughout the centuries of Roman rule.

The sample stands out for its scientific rigor, its eagerness for dissemination and its didactic nature, which makes it understandable and accessible to any interested person.

It is the first time that this exhibition leaves the Valencian Community and is in Molina de Segura, "where we wanted to bring it to occupy for three months this room of the young Museum of the Enclave of the Wall (MUDEM) explains the Councilor for Culture, Pedro Jesús Martínez- We are very interested from the City Council and from the Department of Culture in everything that has to do with the dissemination of historical and cultural heritage.Dissemination is a first step to achieve respect for this heritage sometimes forgotten. that is why we invite all the citizens of Molina de Segura and all our visitors to contemplate these interesting and beautiful pieces ".

"Also, given its didactic nature, we are especially interested in the fact that secondary schools and high schools come in. From the earliest age, it is interesting for students to know our history, which is why they have been expressly invited to that they arrange didactic visits, that we will offer through the service of guides of the museum ", indicates the Councilman of Culture.

In addition, this exhibition serves to celebrate the second anniversary of the Museum of the Enclave of the Wall, inaugurated in March 2016.

Roman Lucernas was inaugurated at the MARQ.

Its assembly received the Emporia Silver National Award for the best itinerant exhibition of 2015. It has passed, before its arrival in Molina de Segura, by Elda, Callosa de Segura, Sax, Cocentaina and Elche.
