The University of Murcia (UMU) will boost its activities and its presence in Molina de Segura with the start-up of a permanent headquarters, the main objective of the agreement that was signed this Wednesday in the Convalecencia building, headquarters of the Rectorate.
The agreement has been signed by the rector of the UMU, José Orihuela, and the mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero.
Clavero recalled the close collaboration that has been uniting the two institutions for years, which is concretized, among other activities, in the courses of the International University of the Sea and the senior classroom.
And he added that this cooperation now widens its horizons with the expectations generated by the permanent headquarters of university extension, which will be located in the Museum of the Wall.
On the other hand, the rector has highlighted the connection of the UMU with the municipality of Molina de Segura, given the proximity of the Espinardo campus.
He has also indicated that the permanent headquarters will contribute to the promotion of the culture and reindustrialization process undertaken by the consistory presided over by the mayor.
At the signing of the agreement have also attended the director of the headquarters, Professor Monica Vallejo, and the councilor of Culture of Molina de Segura, Pedro Jesus Martinez.
