The Department of Culture of the City of Molina de Segura, with the collaboration of the Caixa, announces the twelfth edition of the Literary Writers Encounter Cycle in its ink 2018, which will cover from February to May 2018. The cycle has been presented at the press, today, Wednesday, February 14, by the Mayor of the town, Esther Clavero Mira, the Councilor for Culture, Pedro Jesús Martínez Baños, and the coordinator of the cycle, the journalist and writer Lola Gracia.
Since its first edition, this cycle of meetings with writers has received an enthusiastic response from the public, registering full in practically all the acts.
The cycle has not only helped to promote reading habits among the population, but has helped to turn Molina de Segura into a cultural reference in literary matters.
In the eleven previous editions of the cycle, some of the most outstanding authors of the national and even international panorama participated, from the Frenchman Michel Houellebecq, the Peruvian Alfredo Bryce Echenique or the Irishman Ian Gibson, to living classics of Spanish literature such as Ana María Matute , Eduardo Mendoza, Enrique Vila-Matas, Javier Cercas, Rosa Montero, Fernando Savater, Almudena Grandes, Ray Loriga or Juan José Millás, among many others.
This year the following writers will participate in the cycle:
Luis Landero: author of an already classic novel of Spanish literature, Games of the late age, National and Critic prizes.
Date: February 22.
Manuel Vicent: winner of the Nadal and Alfaguara prizes and author of novels such as Son de mar and Tranvía a la Malvarrosa, taken to the cinema.
Date: March 8.
Víctor del Árbol: ex mosso d'escuadra and Nadal prize for La Víspera of almost everything.
Date: April 10.
Elia Barceló: Edebé prize for Cordeluna, will hold a meeting with IES students from Molina de Segura.
Date: April 26.
Luis García Montero: one of the maximum representatives of the so-called poetry of experience, has won prizes such as the Adonais or the Loewe.
Date: May 3.
All the meetings will take place at 8:00 pm in this library, with the exception of Elia Barceló's meeting, which will be held in the morning.
The coordination and presentation of the cycle corresponds to the writer and journalist Lola Gracia.
