The Molina de Segura City Council announces the report Report on the educational situation of the 2016/2017 academic year and activities of the Municipal School Council (13/02/2018)

On December 12, 2017, the Report on the Educational Situation of the 2016/2017 Course and Activities Report of the Municipal School Council of the town was unanimously approved by the Municipal School Board of Molina de Segura.

On January 29, these reports were reported at the Ordinary Plenary Session of the City Council.

According to the Councilor for Education, Fuensanta Martínez Jiménez, as noteworthy aspects of said report are the following:

SCHOOLING

773 children of pre-school education for three years have been enrolled, leaving 64 vacancies available.

Of these, 27 are students with special educational needs of 3 years and 12 of other courses.

In addition to the applications for the first year of Pre-school Education, 266 applications for other courses have been received.

INVESTMENTS.

This year the City of Molina de Segura, through the Department of Education, has made an investment of 70,000 euros in maintenance and conservation of public schools of Early Childhood and Primary Education.

In addition, investments have been made in the amount of 100,000 euros, in works in these centers, such as: foundation work and consolidation of the CEIP El Romeral cloakrooms;

paving and conditioning of the Infant Education park of CEIP Ntra. Sra. de Fátima;

and expansion of address dispatch, roof waterproofing and change of entrance pavement in corridors of administration hall and secretariat of CEIP Cervantes.

ABSENTEEISM.

The rate of absenteeism in Primary Education in the municipality was 0.38% and in Secondary Education 3.3%.

Although there is no high percentage of school absenteeism, it should be noted that this occurs more in students of 1st and 2nd year of ESO.

While the dropout occurs more in students of 4th of ESO.

For the first time, the number of girls has surpassed the number of boys in ESO.

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES.

The City Council has signed agreements with 19 educational centers for Early Childhood and Primary Education, in which a total of 139 workshops / activities have been developed, divided into 125 sports and 14 cultural, involving a total of 1,734 students, with a municipal financial contribution of 73,960 euros.

Safe and Healthy School Path.

25th Anniversary of Radio Compañía.

International Day of Educating Cities.

Education, Health and Sport Week against Bullying.

Grant of 10,000 euros for the Bank of Books in public schools.

EPI Project (Entrepreneurship to Include), in collaboration with the CEPAIM Foundation, in the IES Francisco de Goya secondary schools and Vicente Medina Concerted Center.
