The Murcian Health Service (SMS) has formalized the contract for the refurbishment of the first floor of the 'Antonio García' Health Center in Molina de Segura, at a cost of 494,049 euros, which will begin in January.
These works, which will be carried out by the Temporary Union of Companies 'Intagua Obras Públicas SLU and Audeca SLUCS Antonio García', will serve to improve the facilities and adapt the spaces.
The Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia published on December 27 the award of the works, whose execution period is eight months.
During the period of the works the center will continue offering assistance in its usual schedule.
The works will involve the comprehensive reform of the entire first floor of the health center and will affect an area of ​​630 square meters.
The reform will allow for more efficient and functional consultations, in addition to renewing the air conditioning system and increasing safety and fire evacuation measures.
In particular, to improve the evacuation of emergencies, an exterior staircase has been designed that will be added to the one that exists in the interior zone.
The health center will have 11 medical consultations, eight nursing rooms, a treatment room, four zones for waiting rooms, two blocks of toilets, a living room for staff and a warehouse area.
This center, which has as a reference hospital the Morales Meseguer, offers, among others, the services of family and community medicine, pediatrics, nursing, midwife, physiotherapy and social worker.
The SMS has more than 300 assistance points in Primary Care in the Region.
Of these, 85 are health centers, 178 clinics, 12 points of continuous care and 27 emergency services of Primary Care (SUAP).
The Murcian Health Service has more than 4,000 primary care professionals, of whom more than 1,000 are facultative, as well as more than 800 nurses, who provide care 365 days a year, 24 hours a day to users.
During the past year, according to data from the SMS, almost 13 million attendances were recorded through the different points of the network of primary care centers, of which almost seven million were family and community medicine and more than three million nursing, which supposes a figure superior to the 50,000 daily attentions.
