The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, and the Councilor for Public Roads and Municipal Works, Fuensanta Martínez Jiménez, held a meeting, today, Monday, December 18, with the Regional Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Region of Murcia, Francisco Jódar Alonso.
In the aforementioned meeting, which took place in the headquarters of the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, municipal officials have presented the problems that the Molina de Segura City Council want to move to counseling to achieve their solution, caused by the flood by the waters of rain that cross the urban helmet of the city and the rural area of ​​Huerta de Arriba and Huerta de Abajo.
Currently, the main problem is caused by the so-called Rambla del Chorrico, which crosses the urban area of ​​Molina de Segura from North to South, and has solutions planned and projected by the Ministry of Agriculture itself, at the proposal of the Environment Committee of the Congress of Deputies (April 23, 2002).
Therefore, "the Municipal Government team, after approving motions in plenary sessions for more than 15 years, we proceeded to request work meetings, to be able to expose our problems, to the different heads of each department and institution that we believe that can provide solutions and help us in adopting the measures that the Molina de Segura City Council can and should collaborate ", points out the Mayor, Esther Clavero.
The main problems, considered as URGENT RESOLUTION, are:
WORKS OF DEFENSE IN THE RAMBLAS OF MOLINA DE SEGURA.
Solutions studied, collected in approved project and planned by the MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE, FOOD AND ENVIRONMENT.
On the part of the City Council, we have GREAT CONCERN:
Despite having a small budgetary appropriation by the Ministry for the year 2016 (€ 500,000.00) within the General Budget of the State, the City Council does not know if there is an appropriation assigned for the continuation of the works in the coming years.
Considering that the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) of the Project was approved in 2013 and that it has 6 years of validity, the validity of it expires in 2019. It would be a serious institutional responsibility to end the period and the works were not carried out, which the Ministry itself, at the request of the Central Government, ordered its execution.
"This would mean throwing all the work done and the expenses incurred into the wastebasket, as well as the risk and damages that originate in Molina de Segura every time it rains," explains the Councilor for Public Roads, Fuensanta Martínez.
The General Director of Water of the Ministry received the Mayor and the Councilor in April of this year 2017, in the presence of the President of the Segura Hydrographic Confederation.
Concern was transferred to him and he committed himself to prioritize the action by 2018. It was necessary that the CHS report was made the cost-benefit report and moved to the Ministry.
URGENT PROBLEMS IN THE MATTER OF SANITATION AND DEPURATION

The urgent need to contract the project of the Los Valientes Water Treatment Plant.
Three priority actions, with projects submitted to the Water DG in terms of improving municipal sanitation.
Actions pending in the II Plan of Sanitation of the Region of Murcia.
PROBLEMS GENERATED BY THE RAINFALL WATERS BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF GENERAL COLLECTORS OF EVACUATION FROM THE URBAN TOWN TO RĂŤO SEGURA.
Several general collectors of rainwater collection are needed in the urban area of ​​Molina de Segura.
PROBLEMS THAT CREATE CONTRIBUTIONS OF RAIN WATER, THAT COLLECTES THE CAĂ‘ADA DE MORCILLO.
Potentially, the contributions of rainwater from:
Rambla de las Monjas
Rambla de las Salinas.
Cańada de Morcillo.
They are concentrated in the factory works carried out by the A30 motorway and, from here, until they reach the bridge of the N-301a road (current Avda. De la Industria), they cause the flooding of the adjoining areas and the cutting of the passage through Calle La Unión, of the Transport City with the La Serreta Industrial Park.
Downstream of the bridge, the waters evacuate where they can, and flood the entire area of ​​Huerta de Arriba and Huerta de Abajo.
To carry out the proposals for actions to study and plan for their implementation, the Council is proposed to set up a technical commission, consisting of technicians from the Ministry of Agriculture, General Directorate of Water and technicians of the Department of Public Road of the City Council, to collect possible solutions, to be raised either to the Ministry of Agriculture or the Ministry.
