The Minister of Family and Equality of Opportunities, Violante Tomás, visited today the day center of the Association of Relatives of Sick of Alzhéimer de Molina de Segura (AFAD-Molina), where she recalled that the Murciano Institute of Social Action (IMAS) has financed this year, with 1.7 million euros, 163 places for seniors in this municipality.
The places contracted are in the residences of Our Lady of Fatima, Ballesol, Escuelas Blancas and in the day centers of Nuestra Señora de Fátima, AFAD and IMAS.
Specifically, the AFAD day center finances the care of five people, for an amount of more than 50,000 euros, a concert that materialized this past October.
On the other hand, there are also 227 active users in the Telecare service and 35 in services linked to the Home Help service.
The Molina de Segura City Council has already indicated its intention to sign the regional agreement that will be processed in 2018.
The counselor pointed out that, "in the continuous improvement we carry out to care for dependents, the Home Help Service of the Unit has been extended to all the municipalities that have requested it", such as Totana, Águilas, Alhama Murcia, San Pedro del Pinatar, Murcia, Archena, Mazarrón, Yecla and Lorca, which are added to the existing Abarán, Alcantarilla and Puerto Lumbreras.
The 2018 budget includes an allocation of 1.3 million to start the processing of new agreements with the municipalities of Jumilla, Ricote, Villanueva del Segura River, Ulea, Mula, East Mancomunidad, Aledo, Albudeite, Lorquí, Blanca, Campos del Río and Molina de Segura.
Currently, more than 22,000 dependent elderly people are served by the Community between financial aid and services.
