Molina de Segura City Council subsidizes four development cooperation projects with 70,000 euros (13/12/2017)

The City Council of Molina de Segura has granted subsidies for a total amount of 70,000 euros to four projects of international cooperation for development, under the agreement approved by the Local Government Board on Tuesday December 12.

The subsidized projects were presented at a press conference on Wednesday, December 13, by the Councilor for Development Cooperation and Solidarity, Pedro Jesús Martínez Baños, and the President of the NGO Coordinator for Development - CONGD of the Region of Murcia, Moisés Navarro Sánchez.

The four NGDOs that have obtained the grant through a public call by the Molinense City Council have been:

ACTION SIN FRONTERAS, with the project OPENING ROADS: Preventive measures gender violence ..., with a subsidy of 22,970.42 euros.

OPENING ROADS contemplates preventive and care measures for the protection of indigenous women who suffer gender violence in the State of Tlaxcala (Mexico) and for the promotion of gender equity and Human Rights.

This project seeks to contribute to the exercise of the right of women in Tlaxcala to a life free of violence, focusing on at least three problems: the lack of sufficient spaces for the psychological and legal attention of women, girls and children who suffer violence gender;

the absence or lack of training in gender issues and attention to victims of violence among authorities and / or organizations that work with women who suffer from it;

as well as the normalization among youth of gender violence.

ENTREPUEBLOS: project Strengthening organizational communities of Chiapas, with a grant of 20,987.84 euros.

This project consists in the organizational and formative strengthening of the indigenous communities and social organizations of Chiapas (Mexico), the basic and technical training for indigenous women and men of Chiapas, and the accompaniment in processes and structures of active participation of civil society with spaces for reflection and analysis.

HELPS CHILDREN OF BOLIVIA: Oikia 2017 maintenance project, with a subsidy of 19,148.50 euros.

The Oikia Center, located in Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Bolivia), is a shelter for street children, with problems of alcoholism, drug addiction and prostitution.

The project has been running for several years, with local staff and volunteers from Murcia.

With this subsidy the maintenance of this year is financed.

In the center there are medical and social personnel.

It welcomes children and adolescents, who participate in workshops and courses, and offers rooms for welcome and support.

CEPAIM: Project Accompaniment to women in transformation and marketing of local cereals in SENEGAL, with a grant of 6,893.24 euros.

The project consists of accompanying the Niomré women's groups (SENEGAL) in the processing and marketing of local cereal products.

The aim is to improve food and nutrition security, and to integrate young people and women, women's promotion groups, as development agents to strengthen and accompany the promotion of employment, income generation for the family economy, empowerment and participation.

Activities related to strengthening the capacities of the beneficiaries are included for greater leadership in the valuation of agri-food products within the framework of a network of associations and associations.
