The Molina de Segura City Council signs a cooperation agreement with the Red Cross for emergency aid and Reliefs and Emergencies (07/11/2017)

The act of signing the collaboration agreement between the City of Molina de Segura and the Spanish Red Cross for a project of aid of urgent need and Socorros y Emergencias took place today, Tuesday, November 7, in the municipality of Molinense.

The Mayor of the town, Esther Clavero Mira, the President of the Local Assembly of the Red Cross in Molina de Segura, María José Almagro García, and the Councilor for Social Welfare, Ángel Navarro García have attended.

The agreement contemplates a municipal subsidy of 36,000 euros, and pursues the fulfillment of the following objectives:

- In the area of ​​Social Intervention: to improve the living conditions of the people and families of Molina de Segura in a situation of extreme vulnerability and with a low level of economic income, and to facilitate that people living in material poverty maintain adequate minimum conditions with support in the coverage of basic needs (food rental, supplies, electricity, pharmacy, optics and small appliances).

The actions to be carried out are:

Processing of financial aid for urgent attention to basic needs and prevention of residential exclusion to cover expenses of a social emergency arising from the crisis for the concepts of: rent, electricity supply, pharmacy, food vouchers.

Food Distribution: Help for the most disadvantaged (FEAD 2014-2020).

The distribution of food is made by the entity 3 times a year for those families at social risk due to lack of income.

Collaboration and support of voluntary personnel by the entity to the programs and activities developed by the Department of Social Welfare.

Reserve of 5 places in the playroom service carried out by the Red Cross, where it offers educational support and school support to children under 5 to 12 years of age with learning difficulties and scarce economic resources in the family environment.

- In the area of ​​Relief and Emergencies: provide healthcare to people who participate in sports, cultural and social events to prevent and alleviate human suffering, maintaining adequate response times within the event;

perform the first assistance and travel to a health center useful to sick, injured or other health reasons in vehicles specially equipped for this purpose;

and attend and provide coverage for incidents of a sanitary nature when public services are overwhelmed and respond to disasters and emergencies in the municipality, coordinating activities with those made with the Civil Protection Services of the Municipality:

Preventive services, urgent health transport and intervention in emergencies and ERIE's programs.

The recipients of the project presented by the Red Cross are people in a situation of extreme vulnerability registered in the municipality with a lack of income for the basic needs of daily life.

Likewise, through the agreement, coverage is given to the general population of Molina de Segura, who is the recipient of the preventive services and / or the activities carried out in an emergency situation by the Department of Relief and Emergency.

As a novelty, the agreement includes a social clause which includes the commitment of the entity that, in case of having to fill jobs, the Socio-Labor Insertion Bag of the Department of Policies for Insertion and Training will be taken into account. Labor of the Molina de Segura Town Hall.

Cruz Roja is headquartered in Avenida de la Industria, s / n, in the old RENFE station, and counts for this project with 1 Social Intervention Technician, 1 Emergency and Relief Technician, Volunteer Team in Social Intervention and Volunteer Team in Relief and Emergencies.
