The Oven Museum of the Council and House of Folklore of Molina de Segura organizes a workshop of children's literature and bookmarks on Sunday, October 15 (11/10/2017)

The workshop of children's literature and bookmarks, organized by the councils of Tourism and Culture of the City of Molina de Segura in the Museum Horno del Concejo and Casa del Folclore (Calle Cid Campeador, Barrio del Castillo), will be held on Sunday, 15 October, from 11.30 to 13.30.

On this day, visitors to the Horno del Concejo Museum will be able to discover the characteristics of the unique furnace up to the 18th century of the city, as well as develop the habit of reading through legends, fables and short stories.

In order to participate in this activity it is important to confirm the attendance by calling the telephone number 968 21 90 99 (Aldaba Congresos, company that develops the program) or to the Department of Tourism, to the telephone numbers 968 388 523 and 968 388 522 .

Museum Horno del Concejo + House of Folklore

This is a unique example of popular architecture from the XVII-XVIII centuries, located in the Castle District that was born after the recovery and rehabilitation of the oldest furnace of this city: the Horno del Castillo.

The building maintains almost in its entirety its original structure, realized with the old technique of the tapial and in which it emphasizes the great dome of its impressive oven moruno.

The museum shows the most significant aspects of the baker's work with interactive media and a very current museography as well as a sample of the most significant aspects of local folklore.

The rooms of which it consists are:

• Bread Room: where you talk about the architecture, history and stories of this oven and its people.

• Audiovisual Room: An inviting audiovisual is projected on the walls and in the extraordinary dome of the oven, the indefatigable work of the baker who, night after night kneads his bread.

• Hall of Folklore: Rounds, rondallas, dances traditions and sounds are joined in this room so that the visitor will know and enjoy with the rich folklore of Molina de Segura.

• Well Room: the cistern, meeting point of the traditional houses of the garden.
