THE CONCESSIONAIRE OF THE MOLINA BUS STATION AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE MUNICIPALITY PRESENT THE IMPROVEMENTS OF THE BUS STATION

On the occasion of the celebration of the European Mobility Week 2017 in Molina de Segura, the concessionaire and the city council of the municipality have presented this morning the improvement actions of the facilities of the Molina bus station.

The event was attended by José Luis Sánchez, representing the concessionaire;

Andrés Brugarolas, General Director of LAT;

Juan Carlos López, Technician of Urbanism of the Town council of Molina de Segura;

José Teodoro López, Technician of Public Road of the City council of Molina;

Elena Mellado, Department of Mobility of the City of Molina;

and Antonio Lopez, Councilor for Mobility of the City of Molina de Segura.

José Luis Sánchez said that "the bus station is very integrated in the neighborhood and, therefore, the steps for its remodeling must be given thinking that it is a space for all, not a closed space, which allows to cover services and needs so that the users and neighbors of Molina feel satisfied with this infrastructure ".

For his part, Antonio López, Mobility Councilor of the City of Molina de Segura, stressed that "is working permanently in improving the bus station."

Among the actions that have already been carried out are: a plan for cleaning and signaling the painting of vials and facades of the office building, columns and luminaires;

reinforcement works of layer of rolling in the zone of circulation of traffic of buses;

renovation of part of the luminaires with LED technology;

cleaning and baling of the platform area and waiting for passengers;

renovation of signage of both building and platform facilities, adapting them to a more current and exclusive design;

adapting facilities to improve accessibility for people with disabilities;

WIFI facilities in the building services;

and a bicycle parking lot.

On the other hand, we have also commented on the actions to be carried out both in the short and medium term, which include the study and remodeling of the whole of the station, both building and area of ​​platforms to house the services of care and information to the travelers, bar-cafeteria, information of the activities that are developed in the municipality, as well as commercial premises, use of banking, eleven, press, etc.

An APP, a web page, a Twitter and Facebook profile with itinerary and time information will also be created, and illuminated MUPIS will be installed with information on Molina City Council services.

Finally, security cameras, WIFI network will be installed at the embarkation platforms, information panels of schedules and routes in the waiting room and the platforms, the plants will be renovated and the irrigation system of the garden areas of the station.
