The love that Emilia Fernández González feels for Molina de Segura, her hometown, and the defense she has made throughout her life of the equal role of women in society, were the two major axes that marked the proclamation of holidays that this retired teacher pronounced last night in the Theater Villa de Molina and that concluded with a closed ovation of all the present ones.
Emilia Fernández remembered in her proclamation how the festivities of her childhood were, she described the way in which the children of the 40s and 50s of the last century lived these days, and accompanied her account of anecdotes and personal experiences .
The preacher recognized that she wanted to "say and highlight the good things about the Fiestas de Molina de Segura" and recalled attractions already disappeared like the cucaña, with a ham as a prize "in postwar times and more hungry than Carpanta."
Fernandez made a review of her career, first as an operative in the textile and canning industries, like so many Molino women of her time, and later linked to the world of adult education.
The preacher concluded highlighting the high participatory character of the Molina de Segura 2017 Festivities, which he wished to be "varied, fun and rumbosas".
The Mayoress, Esther Calvero Mira, imposed on Emilia Fernandez, after reading her proclamation, the insignia of Molina de Segura and handed him a plaque commemorating the act.
As a closing, four poems were read with the woman as the protagonist, to the rhythm of the percussion of the group D'akokan.
After the proclamation a bright firework castle was lit in the Plaza de España.
