World Day of Physiotherapy: Physical Activity for Life (07/09/2017)

The Hospital de Molina joins the celebration of World Physiotherapy Day on September 8, which this year revolves around "Physical activity for life".

A practice that many pick up after the summer break.

Following the motto of this World Day, the head of the Physiotherapy Service of the Hospital Center, Ana Dasí Espinosa, recalls the benefits of physical activity for health, such as improved cardiorespiratory capacity, muscle health and decreased risk of numerous pathologies, such as cardiovascular diseases and type 2 diabetes.

But it also warns of the importance of performing physical activity safely to avoid injury.

That is why Ana Dasí offers 10 tips:

To make a medical examination according to the sport to practice.

Allow an expert to direct the workouts.

Have a good technique and knowledge of the sport practiced.

Warm up according to the needs of each one and the sport to be realized.

Do not forget to never stretch very well all the muscle groups that intervene in the exercise performed.

Follow a strength and coordination exercise program.

Postural hygiene.

Be aware of our limits.

Maintain proper nutrition and a good hydration pattern.

The pains do not go away on their own.

Go to the physiotherapist not only to treat us, but to advise us.

"The injuries need a correct diagnosis and a proper treatment, and the physiotherapists have a fundamental role in prevention with regard to sports practice, in fact, properly performed stretches are essential to prevent possible injuries. the practice of sport in general is one of the main tasks in the day to day of the physiotherapist, "says the head of the Physiotherapy Service of the Hospital de Molina.

The World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT) recalls that physiotherapists actively engage people through interventions that maximize their strength and mobility.

Through counseling and therapeutic exercise programs, they help people of all ages achieve the recommended physical activity goals.
