The XIV Setenil 2017 Award for Best Book of Stories Published in Spain already has 10 finalists out of a total of 117 titles presented by publishers and authors from all over the country, in the most popular edition of its history.
The titles chosen by the pre-selection committee are as follows:

"The animal condition", by Valeria Correa Fiz (Foam Pages)
"The mosquito of New York", by Daniel Díez Carpintero (Sloper)
"Peces de Poco", by Ana Esteban (Dance of the Sun)
"The return to the day", of Hipólito G. Navarro (Foam Pages)
"Theater of shadows", by Fermín López Costero (Nazarí)
"O", by Alejandro Pedregosa (Cuadernos del Vigía)
"The acoustic of the iglús", of Almudena Sánchez (Horse of Troy)
"The look of the orangutan", Chelo Sierra (Diputación de Cáceres)
"Our history", by Pedro Ugarte (Foam Pages)
The Setenil Award for Best Book of Stories Published in Spain, convened by the Department of Culture of the City of Molina de Segura and endowed with 10,000 euros, has become an essential national referent in the genre of the story.
In this 14th edition, the jury is presided over by the Madrid writer Pilar Adón. Carmen Valcárcel, Lecturer in Literature at the Autonomous University of Madrid, and Aurora Gil Bohórquez, writer and professor of Secondary Language and Literature, are also members.
The ruling will be issued from October, and the act of delivery will take place at the end of the year in Molina de Segura.
