This Saturday, September 2, starts in Molina de Segura one of the most anticipated activities of its Patron Saint's Festivities, the Tapa Route and Cocktail "Molina de Tapas", which this year also fulfills its X Anniversary, thus consolidating itself as one of the main attractions of gastronomy and leisure in the Region of Murcia.
The initiative, organized by the Gastronomic Association of the town in collaboration with the Municipality of Molina de Segura and with the sponsorship of Estrella de Levante, has 28 participating venues in four areas, which will offer until 24 September a total of 23 tapas, 3 desserts and 6 cocktails at a price of 2.5 euros, 2 euros and 3 euros respectively.
The route was presented on Friday, September 1, in the Bar "El Capricho de Baco", by the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, Councilman of Commerce, José de Haro González, Councilor of Local Festivals, Andrés Martínez Cervantes, representatives of the Gastronomic Association of Molina de Segura Maite Meneses Gómez and Juan Delgado Valero, the Director of Communication and Public Relations of Estrella Levante, Yayo Delgado, and the Director of Vive Zone, José David Pérez Pérez.
"Molina de Tapas" seeks to promote regional gastronomy and value the products of the land, while accompanying all this with an interesting program of parallel leisure activities.
This section includes "Tapas Sonoras", a musical proposal to be held on Saturday, September 16 in various streets and squares of the town, with concerts, DJs and batucadas sessions, during midday and afternoon.
Likewise, the participating establishments have organized the "Tapea con Música" program, which will take place at different times and places on the weekends of Molina de Segura's Festivities.
The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, has highlighted the importance for the local hotel sector of this initiative, now ten years old, and which consolidates as a "spearhead of the exterior image of Molina de Segura" .
Clavero thanked the involvement in "Molina de tapas" of all the people and groups that make this route possible and highlighted the municipal commitment to the Molinean trade.
The participants of the Route will be able to vote until October 2, through the form that appears in the classic tour, for "Best tapa", "Most innovative tapa", "Best dessert" and "Best cocktail".
In addition they will also be able to participate in the drawing of different prizes valued as a whole in more than 3,000 euros.
This year, on the occasion of X Anniversary, there are added a number of special prizes given by winning venues in past editions and a free concert is held on Friday, September 15 in the Plaza de Espańa, by Barón Rojo, one of the bands emblematic of the Spanish heavy-metal of the 80's.
The social networks will occupy an important place to enrich the experience of participation in the route.
The contest on Instagram returns with the hashtag # molinadetapas10, with which the winner will receive as a prize his height in Estrella de Levante beer boxes.
In addition the Mobile App Vive Zone offers a gourmet lot among all those users who vote for their favorite tapas.
During the 2016 edition of this route served 112,465 tapas and 4,420 cocktails, which meant a direct economic impact of almost 300,000 euros generated by this activity in the municipality of Molina de Segura.
