The Municipality of Molina de Segura, through the Department of Social Welfare, has launched a program of activities to raise awareness of equality and prevention of gender violence for the second quarter of 2017, aimed at the population of the town, in Vulnerable groups such as women, young people and children.
According to the Councilor for Social Welfare, "this program takes a step forward in the fight against the scourge of gender violence, since the activities do not concentrate, like other years, in November, on the occasion of International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, but is intended to be a continuous work throughout the year. "
The programmed activities are detailed as follows:
- PHOTOCALL #molincontralavioladegenero
This initiative aims to involve the general population in raising awareness of gender violence, using social media as a tool.
The photocall will be placed in different sporting and cultural events so that the people are photographed and upload the photos to the networks with the hashtag #molincontralaviolenciadegenero.
- COURSE OPEN THE EYES TO EQUALITY AND SELF-ESTEEM
The objective of this course is to enhance interpersonal relationships based on equality and good treatment, and to improve the emotional and social skills of the participating women.
The contents are: improvement of emotional and social skills;
Self-esteem and equality;
relaxation;
How to improve sleep and rest;
And analysis of affective relationships.
It will take place on Thursday 27 April and 4, 11, 18 and 25 May, from 09.30 to 11.00 hours, in the Meeting Room of the El Retén Building, 3rd Floor (at Calle Mayor, n ° 81).
- CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES FOR EQUALITY AND AGAINST GENDER VIOLENCE
They will consist of reading stories for coeducation and against sexist stereotypes and workshop of puppets with recycled materials, to sensitize children and their families in the importance of equality between women and men, through the stories, to prevent Situations of macho violence in the future.
They will take place on Friday, May 26, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., in the Salvador García Aguilar Library.
- SENSITIZATION IN THE SCHOOLS: ARTURO AND CLEMENTINE REPORTS
The objectives of this activity are to promote egalitarian relations and enable the prevention of gender-based violence.
To carry it out, the story Arturo and Clementina will be used.
The story will be read to the students and later a reflection will be made in group.
It is aimed at students of the second cycle of Early Childhood Education and Primary Education of the schools that request it.
Therefore, the activity will be carried out in the schools that request it, in the dates that are agreed upon.
