The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, and the Councilor of Public Road, Fuensanta Martínez Jiménez, met Friday, April 7, with the Director General of Water of the Ministry of Agriculture, Liana Ardiles López, to request the Government of Spain the beginning of the works collected in the Project of Defense against Avenues.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, through the Directorate General of Water, entered a budget of 500,000 euros for 2016 in order to start the project of defense works against avenues in Molina de Segura, departure Which has not yet materialized in any action.
As explained by the Mayor, "after many years of procedures and procedures, the General State Budget for 2016 included a budget line of 500,000 euros so that work could begin to solve a serious problem that suffers the urban center of Molina de Segura every time there is heavy rainfall, but to date no action has been taken in our municipality. The 500,000 euros were symbolically budgeted, a figure that is clearly insufficient and with no sign of executing it. Which will be prioritized to include the investment in the 2018 budget, once the corresponding cost-benefit analysis has been carried out. "
The works included in this project were declared of general interest, since the Water Law, in its Article 46.1.b, declares works of general interest those included in the Basin Plan.
And the Basin Plan of the Segura Hydrographic Confederation (CHS) includes the defense works of the ramblas of Molina de Segura, including its assessment.
The delay of the works also poses another problem, which is the expiration of the approval of the Environmental Impact Study and the Environmental Impact Statement, approved and published in the BOE 07/07/2013, which, according to the legislation , Has 6 years of validity (until 07/16/2019).
