Molina de Segura will count, for the first time, with a Municipal Council of Sport and Physical Activity, after its definitive approval in the Municipal Plenary celebrated yesterday Monday 27 of March.

This initiative of the government team tries to solve one of the great deficiencies existing in the municipality: the lack of consensus with the citizens in the municipal policies in the area of ​​sports.

The new Municipal Council of Sports and Physical Activity was born as an advisory body for the political will to listen and to agree with the citizens the decisions that, in the exercise of their representation, will be developed in the area of ​​sport.

Its function will be to propose and discuss any matter of interest or relevance that may be considered appropriate.

To achieve this objective, its composition has become very plural and representative of all the possible voices that exist in the municipality, including minority ones.

The Council is divided into: the Plenum of the Council, which will meet on an ordinary and regular basis on a quarterly-four-monthly basis;

And the working groups, which will be created through the Council and who are the ones who have to prepare and debate the plenary presentations.

These working groups are assigned a specific proposal function and for a limited time, and conclude with the end of it.

This assemblage council system, with the participation of many members and the constitution of multiple working groups, allows us to address several relevant tasks in a short time and in parallel.

After its approval, procedures are initiated to convene its first constituent meeting during April, where the first working groups will be appointed, which will work on such relevant issues as: establishing weighted criteria for the award of sports facilities to The 67 clubs registered in the municipality or establishment of a study on the needs of sports infrastructure of the municipality and a timetable for its implementation.

The Mayor of the town, Esther Clavero Mira, believes that "the sport of Mollina is in luck and this new body of citizen participation, plural and representative, will be the engine of many changes that will translate into improvements for all citizens Who practice sports ".
